This muffler is a complete waste of time. It is advertised as for use with 4” exhaust tubing, Sure it has 4” necks on it, however the core is only 3.5”.I submitted a return as soon as I took the muffler out of the box. What a joke.

Its close to factory with a nice tone. Its open so no restrictions. I seen about a 5mpg increase over time on the read out overhead. Not sure if over time it will get louder. Atm it sounds different than the stock, but I can use my phone at 80mph on the highway. Seems like it might be a touch quieter, cant confirm. Overall I highly recommend this exhaust over stock.2006 ram 2500 5.9 Cummins.

I had been running 4" straight pipe with a 6" tip. It was loud but keeping under 70 mph wasn't bad for sound. At 80mph and running 2200 RPMs, it would drone like crazy though. I needed to go back to near stock for sound for a move and was up in the air between this and the MBRP quiet tone which has an 8" diameter but is a few inches shorter. They have about the same case volume but the quiet tone is necked down slightly and this one is a straight through design. Finally decided on this one as the length gives the gas more time to cool with about the same volume for expansion without the necking down. It has succeeded in making it quiet and probably very near stock with it getting some tone when you get in it. I can hear some drone at highway speed but it's barely noticeable. If you want near stock this is for you but if you're looking for something that will bark you'll want something different.My truck is an 04 LB7 with 45 over SAC sticks, 64mm wheel in a port n polished stock turbo, 3" down pipe with 4" exhaust, built trans with a big tune.

Wow love it, if your looking for quiet with your Cummins in a straight thru Muffler , I think you will like, Was easy 25% quieter than other straight thru I had on my 3500 Ram

I used this Muffler in series with Banks 53800, great performance on my super duty 6.7. Now I have a straight through exhaust system. The combination resulted sound levels very similar to stock. the tailpipe sound pressure and pitch is a bit more noticeable when you stand right at the exhaust tip exit. In cab is same as stock sound pressure, with no drowning.Reasonable cost.

I installed this muffler on my motorhome. It's a 40' Class A diesel pusher with a 350hp Cummins engine. Unit is well made with continuous welds at all the seams. It's not polished, but you could if you wanted to. This is a straight through design and can be installed in either direction. It did seem to increase my performance. Roll on power and hill climbing is greatly improved. It did give a little "rumble" to the motorhome, but we're seating 40' from it and it's not obnoxious. Does sound cool in tunnels and under bridges! I'd use this product again.
