This is an incredible induction bolt heater. It heats up really fast and loosens bolts quickly. This is one of those tools that are invaluable to have on hand and for how well it works, it is worth buying it if you are even remotely considering buying this. I won't ever go back to a torch after using this.

This awesome tool comes in it's own hard case (see photo) to protect it and to allow one to carry it around for daily use. The hard case means a lot for my uses, I do a lot of field service and such a case is vital to preserving my tools and instruments - for my service van, having a case for any device I use is practically a requirement. My special thanks to the manufacturer for providing this! So, if you're done with using propane torches or any other open flames to generate localized heating of metal parts - this is the tool you absolutely need. The induction coils generate heat ONLY on the parts you place into/near the coil. There is no ignition hazard! There are 3 rigid coils of stepped diameters (0.75"~1.50" inner diameter) as well as a 'free form' flexible length of wire as a 4th tool, with the same insulative and heat resistant woven material covering it as well. Instructions for safe use are included and pretty much everything is covered - if you've never used one of these devices before. Yes folks, keep your metal piercings away from this thing! (as directed in the instruction manual) If an object is metallic and can have a magnetic current induced through it, it is going to get hot. Very hot, very quickly! This device works so incredibly well, it's a game changer if you're like me and have used oxy-acetylene and propane torches to break fasteners free. I've even successfully sweat-soldered a few connections of copper pipe using this device. It's freaking wonderful! The body of the device is like a really thick & long version of the good old 'MagLight' flashlights, but it's not heavy at all. Weighing in at 2.05 pounds, it's not any heavier than most of my cordless tools. Other than being rather long, the size of it is not terribly inconvenient. If you're working in a very confined space, you may have trouble getting the body of this device into position. Luckily, one can bend the legs on the inductive coils if needed to allow for correct positioning when trying to achieve proximity for proper operation. Ahh...that 'free form' lead comes into play here as well (see photo) It can be shaped any way desired, as it is made of stranded, flexible wire instead of solid copper wire like the preformed coils in the set. Another checkmark for versatility!Naturally, one should take note of the duty cycle of this device. As detailed in the instructions, you can't just use this continuously. Please note that whenever this device is plugged in, the fan inside the body of it is running...continuously and forever running to keep the transformer inside cool. It is not a loud fan, but you will definitely be aware that this device is plugged in - from several feet away - it sounds similar to a heat gun, set on 'low fan' setting. Hey...gotta keep things cool! This device is like a luxury to me after decades of using flames to heat fasteners and other mechanical assemblies. I really have a deep appreciation for the manufacture of such a portable device that can perform this task. This device outshines the table-top versions of inductive heating devices that have the huge, heavy transformers. Once I got this in my hands, I knew it was a game-changer. It's truly an awesome tool. For the price point, I would definitely buy this again! Trust me, this isn't a half-way version of an inductive heater, this is a fully capable (and really powerful) machine. It has been a great contribution to my productivity and has given me added abilities that were previously impossible without it.

PACEMAKER WARNING!!!Important warning if you have a pacemaker you can not use this item.Do not use this device around anyone with a pacemaker. There is a specificed distance in the instructions someone must safely maintain when device is in use.Since I have a pacemaker I'm not able to use or demonstrate the product. I ordered this product for my husband who over the years has had to do the old difficult techniques in removing bolts that didn't always go as needed so this really is a nice handy item. This Magnetic Induction Heater Kit from Harsire comes in a nice solid case with everything you need plus extra coils. My husband used it and said it was easy to use, easy to handle and definitely did the job quickly and more efficiently.

It's a little large and unweildy, but so is a torch and this is easier to keep the heat localized with the induction heater. Other's have mentioned that their is no risk of ignition like with a torch, I would say the risk is much lower, but don't be an idiot with it. For example, gasoline auto-ignites below 500F, this can get a bolt to 1000F no problem, so if that bolt was near gasoline, it would auto-ignite. But it is much, much easier to control than a torch and results in less heating of the surrounding part which is what I want as often I don't just want a part hot, I want it to have a temperature differential with the part surrounding it and this does a better job of that than a torch.

The old adage of "time is money" holds true today. With that in mind, any tool that speeds up work (regardless if you're a pro or a DIY mechanic) is valuable. Most techs agree that a little heat and an engineer's hammer will get anything loose, but what do you do when you don't have a torch, or an open flame carries more risk?Enter this tool, controlled application of electrical heat right to the nut you're trying to take off. Lower risk of setting anything else on fire or damaging nearby components with excess heat from your torch. This is a large tool, as seen on the picture with the ruler, and feels solid on your hand. There's multiple sized heating elements already coiled and an extra one that allows you to shape it as needed. These will eventually wear out with heating cycles but they're just a cable wrapped up with insulation, and replacements are widely available. Elements get hot quick and you'll have to plan where to safely place the tool until it cools off.Be sure to let bolts cool off a bit as the heat from the nut will transfer and might break some bolts that get tons of torque applied quickly (impact wrench). This is easier to carry that a torch with lots of fuel, and easier to manage, so it's a worthwhile investment.
