I'm giving this 3 stars for the bag itself. The straps have nearly all broken off, so mine's now repurposed as a ground bag. For the price, I expected it to be much more durable than this. The bag is easy to load and I like that it closes off at the top (so sneaky horses don't bypass the slow feed mechanism). Suggestions to manufacturer: reinforce all points where the straps attach to the bag. Horses are gonna pull at the bag because they can't get a bite easily. Make the straps themselves easily removable/replaceable. This is for safety of keeping straps out of the way of legs and for use on the ground. Suggestion to buyers: if you need something that hangs, this is not your bag. If you plan to cut off all the straps and use it on the ground, it's probably going to be perfect.

This only lasted two days. Went to his stall and he had a piece of string pulled out of it and it was wrapped around his tooth! Had to get help to cut and get it off his tooth. The hanging strap also broke. Hoping to get a refund. Will update if a refund is given.

If you need this hay bag to hook to something, don’t count on the rings & straps to hold up with a horse eating from it. I returned the 1st one b/c all 4 straps broke off w/in a week from 1 horse eating 2 flakes morning & night out of it. When the 2nd one, the replacement, came a strap broke off day 2. Another horse owner bought the same one & also returned for the same reason. Straps breaking off replacement as well. If you are going to use this as a lay on the ground hay bag, I’d say it’s perfect for that. The hay bag itself is awesome - the straps are terrible quality.

I almost never leave reviews. However, I purchased 5 of these and after one day of use needed to order 2 replacements because the O ring on both broke. Then while waiting for replacements the other 3 broke… I then got my replacements in the mail and within another use one of them broke again.. so within a week and a half SIX broke. All broke at the O ring. Would never purchase again.

Unfortunately within just one week of daily use this bag is coming apart. The rings that attach the straps to the bag are already ripping off or have ripped off completely.

You can fit a lot of hay about 4 flakes, I have 2 Big Warmbloods that I wanted to slow them down. I cut all the straps off and feed it on the ground it is perfect.

This hay feeder looks really nice, feels like heavy duty durable fabric, and has openings for the horse to eat from on both the front and the back. It holds a good amount of hay- probably more than the 15 lbs it recommends for the load capacity. I found the zipper a little bit difficult to work, especially where it has to go around the corner edges. I'm also a little bit confused as to the best way to use the straps. Each strap is permanently attached on one ring and has a snap on the other end of the strap, and the configuration is a little bit odd since the permanently attached ends of the top straps are at opposite diagonal corners instead of both at the front or both at the back. The bottom strap is also permanently attached on one end; since I don't have anywhere to attach a bottom strap it just hangs down and is a bit of a hazard. It would have been much nicer if all three straps had snaps on both ends so they could provide more configuration options. Regardless of the straps, I do like this hay net and am very pleased with the quality.
