I bought this for my son who started taking lessons a few weeks ago, and we love it. The design is beautiful, the sound is loud and clear/pleasant, and it hold its tune very well.

Okay so after a shipping problem that caused the uke to break I eventually bought the same model at the music store and I have to say Im pretty happy with this uke.Its nothing special in terms of sound but overall this is a good sturdy budget uke.Though I would like to say that for a few dollars more you could get the Kala KA-15s which is a bit better than this model.

Ottimo strumento per iniziare. Buon suono e ottime corde aquila.

This is a barely-acceptable entry in the beginner ukulele category. It holds a tune okay, and has acceptable sound quality. It is as entry level as it gets without actually being a toy.Okay to start out a kid on this one, since the entry cost is low, but if you're an adult and buying this for yourself, spring for a slightly nicer one. I have a Kala Concert (the pretty blue one) and a spruce top Kala Tenor, which are both quality instruments.

Loving this ukulele! I'm a new player, and this neat uke has treated me so well! It's only been a week and I've already learned several chords! Don't worry about this ukulele holding a tune. Just gently stretch your strings a bit daily, and your sound will stay crisp for a while. My strings are finally starting to keep their tune!!! Make sure you do some background research on the Shark and how ukuleles work before buying. Thanks to Amazon and the Zorro Sounds team for making the transaction swift and seamless! I LOVE THIS UKULELE!!!

This is a great little uke to start kids out in music. I gave one to a friends' eight-year-old last summer as a present, and I was so stoked on how great it sounded, I bought one for my almost-five-year old. The sound is surprisingly good for such an inexpensive instrument. It has a pleasant, loud, and in-tune sound overall, and it is easy to play. Based on my limited experience of teaching my own child, I'll say five-year-olds have small hands and small attention spans, so I try to keep the lessons short and fun!Like most new instruments with nylon/plastic strings, the strings need re-attaching and stretching. There's lots of good info online / youtube about how to tie and wrap the strings properly. Once they're securely tied, they stretch for a day or two or three, and you'll need to re-tune a bunch. Once the strings have settled, they'll hold a pitch just fine.Anyway, I wish the first uke I bough played this well. This ought to last a long while because it plays well enough to handle the more advanced chords, which a very good thing.

This uke is great! It's perfect for beginners -- it's good quality materials and craftsmanship for the price. The sound is great and holds the tune well. If you're looking for something better than the cheap plastic junk you'd find in swapmeets or similar places, this is a good way to go.
