The drill bits have an SDS-Plus shank and allow drilling in wood or metal without Switching to a drill or using a special chuck adapter. The bit is engineered for use with a rotary hammer in “rotation mode”, but includes a specially-designed shorter shank to help prevent damage from accidental use in “hammering with rotation” mode on rotary hammers. The metal drilling bits are made of grounded high-speed steel (hss-g) for longer life, with a 135-degree split point geometry for reduced “walking”. the wood drilling bit features a brad point that is engineered to provide clean, straight holes in wood. The 5-pc. Assortment includes brad point wood bits: 3/16" x 4-5/8", 1/4" x 5-1/8"; and hss-g metal bits: 1/8" x 3-7/8", 3/16" x 4-5/8", 1/4" x 5-3/16".

Great item for sds-plus drill.Affordable. Just what I was looking for wood and metal drill bits for rotary hammer drill... I believe makita is the only company that make these bits... I'm satisfied.. Fast shipping!!!

Was so excited to find a wood bit that I could with SDS didn't notice how short these are. No issues usually drilling a 3 inch deep hole in wood on a jobsite. A small auger will do that. Was looking for heavy duty wood bits longer and half inch or bigger diameter. Appears they don't make them.
