Line will not advance when you try to bump it on the grass. Breaks off so you have to take the head off and rethread. Like other people said, the head is hard to get off and I tried to wind the line looser but that didn't work. Will contact Makita to see if they offer anything other wise it's going back. Very disappointed.

A good trimmer but doesn't auto feed the string out. Must stom and manually payout trimmer string.

I love this thing, light weight, and the battery last about an hour. We have a lot of trimming to do and this is great for doing so.

A bit disappointed how it works. Love Makita products but this one seems a bit underwhelming. Full battery but the power feels like I’m running on a low battery. It works ok, just wish it had a bit more oomph

I’m a professional tradesman and all of my battery operated tools are Makita. Since I have a considerable investment in Makita batteries and chargers this seemed like the obvious choice for a lightweight string trimmer for use at home. To start it was missing a set screw for the guard. It’s a one line trimmer instead of two like every other trimmer I’ve seen. The spool head is difficult to remove and the line disappears into the head constantly (it may be poor quality line that it came with?) Overall it seems very sub par compared to all of my other Makita tools which are great.
