Braccio Magic Arm con blocco a leva, Base pieghevole e sostegno fotocamera/luci.Il kit viene spedito in scatola di cartone con interno sagomato, ogni pezzo del kit è avvolto da plastica.Certo se confrontiamo un treppiede anche della stessa marca con questo braccio, e soprattutto guardando il costo, la logica ci farebbe scegliere il treppiede.Ma, nella realtà, vi sono situazioni nelle quali il treppiede non ci sta, oppure è troppo alto/basso, o il punto di ripresa che ci occorre è piu' spostato... ecco perchè il braccio Magic Arm è utilissimo, perchè permette di fissare fotocamera-videocamera-luci in posti innovativi e ci permette quindi di avere anche riprese da punti di vista nuovi.La costruzione ottima, solidità impeccabile, tutto nello stile della casa.Possiedo anche la versione con manopola a frizione, e sinceramente la trovo piu' efficace di questa a leva. Tuttavia qualsiasi scegliate avrete un prodotto che non vi deluderà mai. In particolare il blocco - che sia a leva o frizione - blocca tutto il braccio, quindi non solo l'articolazione ma anche le sfere terminali; questo sistema è di una utilità unica, perchè permette di trovare angolazione e direzione giuste in un solo movimento, e di bloccarle cosi.Raccomandato per l'acquisto, sempre, come ogni altro prodotto Manfrotto.

I've been using lesser quality clamps and arms and was I surprised at the difference. First of all the heft is notable. It is quite heavy. Once you frame your camera and lock the mechanism it's not going anywhere. Super simple to set up, easy to use locking mechanism. You will spend more money on this one, but it's worth it.

When you want the absolute best of the best look no further. I photograph indoor sports and I will trust nothing less than the Manfrotto Magic Arm and the Magic Clamp to hold my camera and lens up for remote photography. I also use these to hold my strobes in place when light stands are out of the question.

The very first (and only) time I used this, the clamp broke. Fortunately my $5000 of camera equipment wasn't attached when the spring popped off the cap (washer). I cannot get it back together. Unfortunately my first use was a couple of months after my purchase so I couldn't return it.

Den Manfrotto Magic Arm lernte ich um die Jahrtausendwende kennen, in der ganz jungen Internet-Redaktion einer Tageszeitung. Es waren bewegte Pionierjahre, und so machte jeder in der kleinen Redaktion alles. Der Chef-Fotoreporter der gedruckten 'Mutterzeitung' drückte mir eines Tages den Arm in die Hand, erklärte kurz, wie das Teil zu handeln ist, meinte, es gehöre unbedingt in jede Fototasche, und ließ mich damit alleine.Es war Liebe auf den ersten Blick, dieser Magic Arm. Kein Stativ, keine Halterung macht jede Kamerastellung so mühelos und selbstverständlich mit. Anfangs etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig, wird der Dreh an dem Arretierungshebel schon bald zur zweiten Natur.Irgendwann ist alles zu Ende, und so musste ich beim Verlassen der Redaktion auch den Magic Arm an den erfahrenen Kollegen zurückgeben. Jahrelang verschob ich den Kauf immer wieder auf später: Es soll ja wichtigere Dinge geben. Nun war es mal soweit.Erfreulich: In unserer rasanten Zeit gibt sich der Magic Arm genau so wie vor 15 Jahren. Die selbe solide Bauweise, das gleiche massive Werkzeug-Feeling, die dem Benutzer zuflüstert: 'Ich lass dich nicht im Stich!'. Selbst der Preis ist, Teuro hin oder her, gleich geblieben, mithin unterm Strich deutlich billiger geworden: Circa 200 Mark wollte Manfrotto im Jahre 2000 für den Magic Arm inklusive Klemme und Kameraplatte haben. Inflations- und Eurobedingt ist der heutige Amazon-Preis für das Set geradezu amüsant niedrig. (Doch psssst! Bitte nicht an die Mafrotto-Marketingabteilung weitersagen!)Den Arm nutze ich hauptsächlich als Halterung für Fotoausrüstung ' das dürfte auch sonst die häufigste Verwendung sein. Ich habe aber schon mal ein kleines MIDI-Keyboard darauf platziert (mittels Notenhalterung + Stativgewinde). Für ein Laptop wäre Ähnliches denkbar. Die Klemme lässt sich auch ' nach Art des nicht mehr erhältlichen 'Franzosen' ' zum Fixieren von geklebten Sachen zweckentfremden, der ganze Arm als teure Halterung für Leseleuchte oder für ein iPhone/iPad nutzen' oder als ausgefallener 'Vorlagehalter' im Büro. The sky is the limit!Was den Hauptzweck angeht: Innerhalb der Grenzen der Physik ohne Einschränkungen nützlich. Die Naturgesetze (Drehmoment, Vibration') kann auch Manfrotto nicht außer Kraft setzen: für ausgewachsene DSLR mit längeren Objektiven nehme man am besten doch ein ordentliches Dreibeinstativ. Das ist aber alles natürlich von der jeweiligen Aufgabe abhängig. Mit 'Systemkameras' im Sinne von MFT wird das Problem der Vibrationen unbedeutend, mit GoPro & Co. ' nicht mehr existent.Die mitgelieferten, ausklappbaren Standfüße sind eine feine Sache, solange der Magic Arm als Halterung für Beleuchtung / Blitzgerät dient (Letzteres geht dank der durchdachten Kameraplatte exzellent, auch mit extra Streuschirm kein weiteres Zubehör nötig). Für Kameras, egal welcher Bauart, ist dieser Aufbau nur bedingt zu empfehlen ' bauartbedingt sind hier Schwingungen nicht zu vermeiden.Dem Set liegen 'Anleitungen' bei, die eine gewisse Faszination der Italiener für einen skandinavischen Möbelhersteller nicht verleugnen lassen. Es wurde aber auch Praktisches beigelegt: Inbus-Schlüssel zum Nachziehen / Verstellen der Gelenke. Erfahrungsgemäß ist es sehr selten, da etwas nachstellen zu müssen, aber bei so einer Waffe weiß man(n) das natürlich nie'.Apropos Waffe: Der komplette Magic Arm ist ' der massiven Mechanik wegen ' beileibe kein Leichtgewicht! Es lässt sich dafür erstaunlich kompakt zusammenfalten. Das macht ihn gefühlt noch einmal schwerer.In der Summe ärgert mich an dem Magic Arm nur eines: Dass ich denKauf so lange aufgeschoben habe. Aber dafür kann Manfrotto ja nix'.

The build and functionality inspire confidence in me. I trust my D800 and a Pro lens on this thing. I haven't done macro or product photography with it yet, but I'm sure it will come in handy when I do. I've even attached this arm to a heavy duty light-stand, to get a strobe to drape down onto on object, with a shoot-through umbrella attached. Being able to angle lights, gives you the ability to shape light in very unconventional ways. The end result, is a look that others may not have.

These Manfrotto devices are excellent quality and ease of use. I have purchased several of these for use as and engineering quick setup tool. I use them to mount or hold a variety of devices from machine vision cameras to any type of mechanical prototype setup.

This magic arm is standard part of the studio set up. However very poorly built, subject to constant failure at the locking mechanism. The bearing rolling system designed crushes the soft metal used to secure it. Over time the metal looses form and causes the arm to unlock or loosen. Typically the arms have a two or three year lifespan and must replaced. It helps to make sure the joint is very clean, grit / dirt will degrade the function.Overall good concept, bad quality.

I have a bunch of the security cameras and one day it occurred to me that I could use them to spy on the many bird nests that seem to pop up in my yard. I tried Jerry-rigging mounts all last summer, and this year I decided there had to be a better way.In steps this beast. Very well constructed and attaches to almost anything! I've had no problems with attaching it to bush limbs for mounting a video camera over various nests this year -- and even though it's been outside for over five months now, it's still in excellent shape. (I did lightly wipe it with some gun oil at the beginning to stave off rusting, and it's worked like a charm.)Great tool!

Photography is a major part of my job, which is processing crime scenes. My original intent was to buy this unit for shots that were hard to get with a tripod. These would include blood spatter on a counter top or other unique circumstances. While it turned out to be great for that it also turned out to be far more useful in my personal photography than I thought. This system(with the super clamp)is so stable that it is a amazing. Do not expect to put a DSLR on this unit using the flash stand legs. I can smuggle this unit into many places that a tripod can't go in my wife's purse. It is great for places like the zoo with all of those great rails to clamp on to and you don't have to worry about folks kicking your tripod. The only drawback to this unit is that it did not come with a 1/4 inch stud for use with the super clamp. They are however available for about $6 at numerous places on the internet. Definitely buy one to get the full potential out of this equipment.
