They’re nice! Might need a little sanding for a perfect fit

These went on a Martin Dreadnought Jr. they were thicker than the old pins but I sanded them down and they really dressed up the guitar.

I just put these on my Martin OMC16. They look good and I sense that the tone is improved too. I had to replace the old plastic pins because 1 of them broke after nearly 20 years. Now I think I’ll do the same for my Martin HD28. Curious about how the tone will improve with that one. The OM seems to have improved tone, projects more, so I assume the same will be true for the Dreadnaught.

I have a big, old, handmade, dreadnaught Guild that I bought back in the mid '70's. The back and sides are solid maple. It is a nice guitar. It is a very loud, very bright acoustic guitar. No complaints, it's always been my go-to guitar. However, I thought I might try to mellow it just shade and try these ebony pins, replacing the original plastic ones. Well, it worked, no kidding. The high end is not quite so bright, and the bottom end is bit more pronounced. Yes, the difference is subtle, but there it is.

Además de su evidente fragilidad, no quedaron exactas en mi Martin X Series (por si tienen una).

They're awesome. Best to buy Martin Pins for Martin Guitars. They always fit better. Oddly enough, they fit most Taylors really well, too. The fit is snug as it should be and the quality is commensurate with Martin products. This set of Martin brand Ebony/White Pearl (Abalone) pins were just perfect in adding a subtle - but noticeable tone refinement - to my Martin Dreadnought. The Martin Dread I own is an elegantly understated model and the Solid Spruce All-Wood Top has mellowed with age and darkened to a vintage, light tobacco color. These Pins, the Factory Sound-Hole Rosette Decoration and Abalone Fret Markers all work together to add a most desirable, coordinated visual enhancement to an already wonderful instrument.

I bought this set for my Alvarez-Yairi guitar and the pegs fit just fine. The original plastic pegs had finally begun to disintegrate due to age so I had bought a set of brass pegs first. They made the guitar sound a bit too bright and metallic for my tastes, so I bought these ebony pegs, and they have made a big differenct to get my guitar back to its original rich and mellow tone. And being wood they should last a lot longer than the plastic original pegs, which had been on the guitar for over 30 years.

These bridge pins would be right at home on a $5000 Martin. That's how good the craftsmanship is. I put them on my Epiphone acoustic electric beater guitar and they fit perfectly. I bought them because the cheap bridge pins that were on the guitar made a squeaking sound when my palm brushed over them while flatpicking and palm muting. These certainly solved that problem. As for the sound I'm not sure yet. The new strings I put on with the new bridge pins sure sound awesome so that might be affecting my judgement. They sure didn't hurt the sound though! One note to those experiencing problems with the pins being too large and not fitting in their bridge. Don't use a luthier to bore out your bridge. You can't easily undo that. Instead hone down the pins with three sheets of sandpaper. One course, one medium, and one fine grit. Sand the lower part of the pins down (the part that goes into the bridge) with the course paper until they almost fit perfectly. Then use the finer sand papers to smooth the surface and customize the fit. It may take the dark color off the wood, but you never see that part of the pins anyway once they sit in the bridge.

These pins are of very high quality, that which I would expect from Martin. I play a Martin D15M Dreadnought and I string with DR Rares. I restrung with my old bridge pins and broke them in. Very shortly after I restrung again to install these bridge pins. Going from Martin pins without the inlay to these I noticed no difference in tone which is good. Contrary to other reviewers observations, these are indeed made of ebony wood, they are not cheap plastic. They were a very snug fit on my Martin and were too large for my other acoustic. That is a simple fix though with some careful re-sizing. My single complaint is that the endpin included in the set was too small for my D15M. The original endpin for the guitar is great but this one is definitely loose enough that I would avoid using it. Otherwise the set is very high quality and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a new set of bridge pins.
