Update: the company reached out to me and offered me a full refund. I changed my rating from 2 stars to 3 stars. I still stand behind my initial review but great customer service goes a long way. I will also say that I made a hot Matcha (I usually do a cold Matcha latte) and the clumpiness was way less of an issue. Still didn’t digest well though.Original review:I wanted to love this.I recently got into Matcha and finished up my first bag (of a different brand). When re-ordering, I decided to try this one because the bag was a little bigger and the price was a little lower. I ordered the unsweetened one because I like to add monkfruit sweetener. I will say, that the taste of this is good. That is definitely not a complaint I have. But, this brand requires a whole tablespoon of matcha per 8 ounces of liquid. The other ones I’ve seen have been 1 teaspoon per 8 ounces, so there goes the idea that it’s a better deal. But, ok, no big deal since the taste is good. But, it is so clumpy that I just can’t get past that. The other Matcha I had was easy to mix with a handheld mixer/froth or. Honestly, even a spoon would do the job. This one is so clumpy that the only way to get it smooth is to mix it in my ninja. I thought it was me at first because I put the matcha in first and then added the liquid (like I’m used to) but the directions do specifically say to add the liquid and then the matcha. So I tried it that way and I got the same result. Another problem - (and this may be TMI but I just want to warn people) this gave me the worst gas. I wasn’t sure what the heck was going on with me or what was causing it, but slowly, by process of elimination I discovered it was this matcha. I don’t know why that would be the case but it certainly was (maybe the potato starch they use to make it “instant“?). As I said, I really wanted to love this but it just isn’t for me.Tl;DR: taste is good but so clumpy it’s impossible to drink unless you use a high powered blender. Gave me wicked gas.

The taste is smooth and has a nice light sweet smooth finish. I like it. I also like the this package is bigger than most.

My first time making my own matcha and this was a great choice. I used too much liquid for my first batch, but I could still taste the sweetness. I know once I get my measurements right, this will be a winner on its own, no additional sweetners needed. Dissolves fast and easy, and can be whisked or frothed and doesn't come out bitter or sandy either way. Just wish it weren't so expensive!

The biggest size I could find. Packaging is bigger than the actual product tho. It's already sweetened and ready to use but if you are using it to bake or make whipped matcha creme (like I did), I suggest mix with liquid first then all together.

This tastes exactly like a famous coffee shop's offering. It's easy to make. I use milk that I heat up for 1.5 mins in a microwave, and then whisk in a heaping tablespoon of the powder (in a large cup) and use a small whisk to stir it in. It will clump at the top a little, so just heat that up 30 more seconds and it will whisk smoothly. It's so good. The bag lasts me a month, drinking it 2-3x a month. Really great. Best matcha powder I've found, and I've tried about 6 or so. Costs a fraction of going to get one made at the famous coffee shop!
