As a small person using pistols, I really don’t want a huge dump bag with room for 15 30-round magazines for 5.56 or 7.62 ammo. Not only would it take precious space on my belt, but it would look ridiculous covering my backside. I struggled to find something small enough until I found this one. This is the perfect size to accommodate several magazines from my 9mm 2011. The edge is nice and rigid when open, and there is Velcro on the inside to keep the flap out of the way while the pouch is in use. When I’m ready to go home, it easily folds up into a neat bundle and stays secure with another piece of Velcro on the outside.I am always concerned with a fold-up piece like this that I will have to memorize a complicated set of instructions to get it back into the neat bundle in which it arrived, but I was pleasantly surprised that this doesn’t require any special moves to return this to it’s folded state.I am very pleased with this pirchase and don’t hesitate to recommend it.

This pouch has been a life-saver! I bought a 511 Backpack with MOLLE webbing and thought “I should get a pocket that can hold my iPad mini so I can be hands-free while I'm walking around”. This pouch couldn't have filled the job better! This size pouch is perfect to hold an iPad mini and I also use it to hold one food item (a bottle of water, a take-out container on its size, a bag of chips, etc) as I'm walking around. The size is smaller than 1 plastic shopping bag, so if you're wanting to accommodate a full-sized tablet or a few items I would recommend going one size up.As for the construction and build quality: this is one of my first maxpedition pieces and I'm thoroughly impressed with it. I've used it for months with no visible signs of wear at all. Truly unbelievable. This will stand up to any abuse you throw at it!

I bought two Rollypolys, one for my pack, one for my wife's. These things are little gems. When rolled up, they are a fraction of the size of most competing dump pouches. The construction is very stout, too, and the bag stays open on its own beautifully. The included clip for vertical webbing mounting is a nice touch. While the Rollypolys have a belt loop, it doesn't seem to add any floppiness when Molle-mounted, as the thing is so compact when rolled up.Ours are mounted on the sides of our packs, low, so that when open you can reach directly into the pouch without fussing with the pack. This is a Swiss Army sort of pouch. Useful for all kinds of things you wouldn't think of until you have the need. Anyone who hikes or camps will find uses for it constantly. One reminder applicable to the dump pouch concept, no matter what the brand: With any MOLLE-mounted dump pouch, you will have to remove the pouch to carry it full or conveniently dump it. Leave it mounted on your pack and you have 3 options: empty it an item or handful at a time, turn the pouch inside out to empty it, or turn your pack upside down. Yikes! Obviously not an issue if you're using it to carry a water bottle or something.I used Blackhawk! 3" Speed Clips to mount mine.Highly recommended.

I was expecting something 'bigger' when I got this size of Rolypoly. Fit's onto the outside of a gear bag and is truly no weight or extra bulk at all when empty and rolled. No pockets in this. Just a dump. This size holds 7- 30 round rifle mags snugly - that should give you an idea of size when 'deployed'. Use it for extra loose ammo, empty mags, or whatever you can think of! Price is higher as with all Max bags - but considering the workmanship, quality of materials, unique ideas on designs, and weather-proofing - well worth it if you need a 'catch-all'. For more info on Maxpedition gear, see their website - [...]Just purchased a second one of these because I liked the 'dump' capacity of my first purchase - one I have attached to my range bag, the other to my long gun weapon's pack.

The Rollypoly is absolutely perfect. I've come to really like Maxpedition products (this being my fourth purchase, after an EDC pack, a wallet for my wife, and a deck of playing cards). All their stuff is superbly crafted, very durable, and does exactly what it claims. The velcro on this is tough and clean (not overly fuzzy or sloppy like on some other products), the stitching is robust, the material is thick and rugged.I bought this mainly to store my pocket dump at the end of the day, to help keep things together, and for this, it works flawlessly. I stuff it full to the top, including my belt, pocketknives, hanky, multitool, flashlight, pens, et cetera. A little over five pounds of gear (yes, I weighed the whole thing on a food scale), and it still closes perfectly. The drawstring also helps, but I rarely use it.When it's not holding my stuff, it rolls up and goes on my belt. I've already found many uses for it. When I'm working on a project, it holds my tools, my nails and screws, or anything else. And it doesn't poke me uncomfortably in the belly, like a lot of other things that are supposed to go on belts. Unless I'm sitting at an awkward angle, but usually that's a sign that work is over and I should be taking off my gear anyway. And it's got a little grommet-hole in the bottom, so you could even put wet things in there (like say, if you just caught a fish). My only minor complaint is that I wish the drawstring were a non-elastic material (I believe the larger model uses paracord), because the elastic requires a long pull to get the bag to close. But it's not enough of an issue to lose a star, because the elastic (shock-cord? bungee?) still works perfectly.I definitely recommend the Rollypoly, and any Maxpedition product, for that matter.
