Did about 3,000 sqft with little wear on tines. My older B&S mower could just handle it. Obviously some thick thatch might be a slow push or a more powerful mower would help.

I was worried about the fit on my Honda lawnmower. No problem. It jut mounts with the two side bolts. I didn't have to worry about the size of the centre hole at all, as the centre bolt stayed on the mower. Got lots of spare washers now. I tried it out with the springs just touching the driveway. On the uneven grass there was some tearing out of the grass as well as the moss. But I am going to over-seed and some scaring of the lawn but that will probably be an advantage.

Was not to sure about it at first, but after seeing the youtube video on how to install and use it. It works just fine, it did a very good job of removing the moss from my lawn.

This dethatching blade worked exactly the way I hoped it would. I had an area of my yard that was looking sparse and clumpy, and I wanted to get rid of matted leaves, thatch, dead weeds, and other stuff that was clogging up the ground and keeping the grass from filling in. I had to modify this a little to fit my LawnBoy Gold Pro 1997 mower. The drive shaft fit with one of the included washers, but the slots on the sides of it were a little too narrow for the tabs to engage, so I enlarged them in the proper spots with a dremel and grinding stone. It was quick, easy, and effective. For most mowers, this probably won't be necessary.Assembly was a little difficult in that the loops in the springs where you install the mounting bolts didn't line up perfectly, and the bolts were too short to get the nuts on. I fixed that by compressing them with a pair of pliers while I started the nuts. From there, it was very easy. Check to make sure you install them so that they're trailing the blade part when the blade is installed. I did it backwards the first time and had to take them off and redo it.I used this on an area of my yard about 500 sq. ft. to try it out. In followed the instructions and set the blade height so that the tips of the springs were just about at ground level (on concrete). I pushed the mower at a moderately quick speed and was thrilled to see it leaving trails of thatch and dead junk behind as I passed over an area. As other reviews may state, don't stop unless you tilt the mower up a little to lift the springs out of the ground, or you'll tear the heck out of a circular area. It did take out quite a bit of grass as well, leaving that part of the yard looking thin and terrible.I started to rake up the thatch and debris, thought better of it, installed my regular blade and bagging attachment, and went back over the area. The bagger picked up everything. This blade won't work with the bagger because there is no angle to the metal, so you need your normal or high-lift blade to do that. Made very quick work of the cleanup, though I had to empty the bagger frequently. What I really wish I had done was take pictures before, immediately after dethatching, and a couple months after overseeding the area. It looked bad initially, REALLY bad after dethatching, and now it is by far the best looking area of my yard. The overseeding helped fill in areas that were bare to begin with, but the major thing that happened was my Kentucky Bluegrass spread out to fill in most of the bare spots. It is amazing the transformation that this part of my yard has seen as a result of this treatment, and I plan to do the rest of my yard this fall. The only thing I would warn about is to look out for weeds taking over the newly exposed bare soil. Maybe hit it with a broadleaf killer a couple weeks after reseeding. I ended up having to pull a lot of mature weeds by hand because I failed to do this, but now there are almost none there, and it is all lush, green grass.I would very much recommend this blade. I did consider deducting one star because the assembly and instructions left a little to be desired, but in the end, it did such a good job so easily and for so little money, how could I really find any fault?
