I have 2 of these 12tb drives in my Reolink 36 nvr. I think I’ll add a third one of these for 36tb total. I could have used larger drives but the value of these in cost/benefit reasoning and reliability personally experienced from the first 12tb same drive I originally installed in the nvr and subsequently upgraded with another like drive as these run quite and have been reliable for my video surveillance system.Recommend this model to those seeking effective storage on busy video system requiring hardware surveillance drive specifications for this purpose.

海外から直送で来た為か、配達時間がかなり掛かりましたが、製品自体の性能には今のところ全く問題なく動作しています、他の製品と比べたら価格はかなり安くてコスパは良いと思います

I can't rate the product because my system will not recognize it with three drive enclosures.1. Nextar HX from VANTEC that supports up to 16TB.2. FIDECO that supports up to 16TB.3. Inland Model: GD35648

SECOND DRIVE: worked perfectly out of the box. I've transferred ~7TB at expected speeds and it is very quiet. So quiet that I might get 3-4 more and swap out older drives that make more noise.FIRST DRIVE: I ordered 1 from Amazon, windows reported I/O errors and command timeouts. It also made undesirable noises. I'm guessing it was dropped in transit. I was unable to initialize or format it even with fancy software in windows. Moved it to my NAS and with a little brute force was able to get it to initialize and format. Moved back to desktop and while it would now initialize, crystaldiskmark had a fun time with it... essentially the best read/write I could get out of it was 20MB, about 10% of what you'd expect. Returned to Amazon for refund. Minus 1 star for the DOA drive.

I bought this as a new backup drive. I have been using it for a little while now as I wanted to wait and verify it worked as expected and didn't show any early signs of issues. So far, it has worked great. The capacity is exactly as advertised. I only state that (as it should go without saying) because I saw some reviews on here from folks that are understandably confused about how disk storage sizes are advertised. The more commonly known older 1024 and the slightly more recent 1000 conversion (still very old, late 90s if memory serves). Storage disks have been using the 1000 conversion for decades at this point, while some other components like RAM are using the 1024 conversion. It's confusing and I don't like it, but it's just how things are. With that said, if you are using Windows, it will look like the disk is smaller than you are expecting because it still uses 1024 to report size. Mac and Linux use the 1000 conversion as do many disk utilities. Sorry for the additional side info, but I feel like it's important you set your expectations when you buy this. It is 12 TB drive, not a 12 TiB drive. The drive runs cool and is no louder than my other spindle hard drives. It is surprisingly fast, as well. It will slow down as it fills, but as of right now it's performance is wonderful. I have included some screenshots. The S.M.A.R.T. doesn't report any odd number of hours I wouldn't expect from initial quality assurance. No red flags about issues with the platters or anything that really stands out. 1 of the screenshots is only for context for the drive's performance as it is of an existing drive in my system. Note that the older drive being used for comparison is A) internally connected to the SATA and B) at half capacity, so will perform slower than it would when empty. The new drive that is being reviewed is connected externally in an enclosure and has a similar amount of data on it, but is also has far more available capacity so would not be as impacted by how much data is on it. Also, for additional context, when I refer to being external it is going from a USB 3.2 Gen2 port to a CHEAP USB 3.0 hub to a still pretty cheap USB 3.0 enclosure and through the enclosure's USB to SATA controller. So it is losing quite a bit of potential in this configuration. Even under these circumstances the 2 drives perform very similarly with the new drive currently outperforming a single platter 7200 rpm WD blue drive.I really couldn't be happier.

I got a pair of these and the first thing I did was connect them to an eSATA equipped laptop with Crystal disk Reports installed to check their condition. It showed one power up and zero hours for each, brand new in other words. I put one in an enclosure and connected it to the box running my Plex server, the other will go into a file server. I haven't seen so much as a hiccup from the Plex disk which is in constant use, although it makes a bit of a sound while seeking at times. It was enough to make me wonder if it were getting read errors at first but no errors occurred. I'm thinking of getting several more for NAS and server boxes on hand. The amount of storage for the price is great, and if they remain reliable, it would be a no brainer.

In recent years I've found a high incidence of drive failure among the mainstream retail HDD options and, unlike back in the day, prices have not significantly dropped yearly for given capacities as they might have in the past. I had a such a drive fail on me recently, so I was looking for options. As much as I am skeptical of white label or "off brand" options, I figured I'd give this drive a try as the price and warranty was competitive. I intend on using this as a backup drive. It arrived quickly and was protectively packed as a mechanical hard drive should. So far it seems to be functioning well at a decent performance and temperature. Only time will tell how long this drive lasts, but I am not too impressed with the usual options at the current prices anyway, so it's worth a go. In my experience most hard drives are manufactured sloppily and to not last long nowadays anyway. If it lasts as long as the warranty period offered, I'll be happy.
