This is a variable neutral density filter for camera lenses. The filter comes in a variety of sizes; I tried 67 mm. The filter consists of 2 pieces, one of which screws firmly in place on your lens and the other turns to provide dark neutral density filtering in a graduated manner. By restricting the amount of light coming into your lens, you can greatly extend the shutter speed without over-exposure. This enables you to smooth out the flow of water falls or make people and vehicles disappear from busy locations. The lens ships in a nylon case with a Velcro closure, inserted into a cardboard box.I have had good results when using this filter with my Nikon Nikkor Z 24-200 mm lens. The filter screws on securely, and the action is very easy to use. It is quite convenient to have a variable neutral density lens like this one instead of having to carry and try a variety of different ND strengths. The lens is clear throughout the range, and I don’t see evidence of vignetting. The nylon case isn’t as protective as a solid plastic one, but it seems to do well enough, and it certainly keeps off finger marks and dust. Overall, this is a good choice for an all-around neutral density lens.
