Your cart is empty. The Meinl Percussion synthetic Turbo Guiro is precision molded with three different striking surfaces. The main zone has a traditional sound, the looser packed ridges have a lower, resonant tone, and the super tight ridges have a quieter, high-pitch sound. Equipped with two rubbed lined grip holes and includes synthetic scraper. Measures 15” L x 5” W with 9” L scraper. Great for traditional Latin American styles, and you can play it with modern pop music too. Its three striking zones open up more sounds, and it's high strength for road and outdoor use.

Nice large and loud guiro. Works as advertised so I gave it a 4. In order to for me to give it a 5, I would want it to look and feel and sound more organic like a high quality wooden guiro. Those can sometimes not be loud enough for a live setting though.

I grew up playing the wood fish sort of guiro. Smooth sound but not usually loud enough. This one can be loud. Or not loud. Has different grids to play on. Has different strikers. No issues with materials or workmanship I can see. Didn't think I would like it so much being plastic but it's a better musical instrument than the old wood ones and I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Weird, uncomfortable finger-hole placement. But the LP version seems to be the same. Other than that, fine.

I'm a big fan. Sounds better than the LP Super Guiro. Although you can't see it in the picture, the underside has 2 more scraping zones with different spacing between the ridges. One zone has 3/4" spaces like an old fashion gourd guiro which makes the scrapes sound lower in pitch and more resonant. The other has tightly packed small ridges for a quieter, shorter, and higher pitched sound. The regular top scraping zone has deep ridges that are packed slightly closer together than the LP Super Guiro. The ridge spacing combined with the narrower chamber make this Guiro louder, more focused, and less plastic-soundi g than the LP. Highly recommended!

Did the job adequately. Loud and durable. Also came with a Chinese chopstick lol, for a different sound, which I actually prefer to the plastic one!
