Second one of these we've installed this year. Customer very satisfied with the performance of this pump. Shipped and delivered quickly. Always use the Melling pump on the Ford 5.4L engines, works great. Will be purchasing again I'm sure.

The price on this Melling pump was right. When I put it on the first time I must of not aligned it correctly. I would rotate 360 degrees and it would have a hard stop. Rotate it 360 the other way and a hard stop. So I took it off reviewed the mounting instruction and reinstalled it and now it rotates fine. I have yet to start the vehicle. I expect it work as designed.

Worked great for my 5.4 liter engine in the 2008 f150. I used all ford genuine timing components, along with this pump. No regrets. Months later and the engine still runs and sounds perfect.

this is the pump you need to make your 5.4 run without making ticking noise. good on older engines a must replace if you're doing timing chains . priced right

I've got an old Ford F250 5.4L with 300,000 on it. I began losing oil pressure and that caused the hydraulic tensioners for the chain to fail. All mechanics said the motor was done and need replace. I bought this pump, change myself and put new timing chain parts in (only use Ford OEM for timing chain parts) and this Melling oil pump and it runs like new!!Great job Melling!

I needed this part for my vehicle and everywhere else the price was very high. Ordered this one at a very reasonable price and it fit perfect.

I purchased this to address the low oil volume/pressure issues that haunt the 5.4L. I rigured I would upgrade it, while I had everything open, for a timing job. It was easy to install. Delivery was decent and the best price I've found, so far! I would definitely recommend! ๐Ÿ‘

I found. A rubber glove. In oil. Pan. Motor. Shot. Pump. Great. But itโ€™s. In. A ford. So that make the pump. Crap.

Had to get on but you can sense the difference, added an oil gauge before I did it, the oil pressure increased significantly. Great product

Pump was very high quality and matched the size of the original FoMoCo pump perfectly. Without a doubt I am pleased with the product AND happy I replaced the oil pump. Now a few things to consider:1. Watch the Fordtechmakuloco video on youtube. He makes it look very straight forward.2. I did not find it as straight forward as he did. In particular the fitment of the pump all the way on the crank was very difficult to achieve, especially hanging upside down from the top of the radiator.3. Melling has a special procedure for priming the pump that includes equipment not sold here. This was not followed in the video I watched nor was it in any provided direction (none at all provided).4. My pump WOULD NOT PRIME with simply cranking the engine with the crank sensor disconnected. Prime was eventually achieved but after about 20 15 second cranks (battery charge after about 10). Also pumped oil into pressure sensor port. I did pre-oil pump, but perhaps packing with assembly lube might have been better. Again - no directions. How much damage occurred in that time?5. Engine runs fine now, including building pressure at start up.

Absolute must have/install for any Ford 5.4L 3V engine. I used this in a 2005 F-150 and would definitely use again for the next timing set job. You should have a 8mm flex head ratcheting wrench on hand for the somewhat hard to get at oil pickup tube bolts (unless your dropping the oil pan, than there is no need). I installed this at the same time as replacing the complete timing set, camshaft phasers, variable valve timing solenoids, and all 24 hydraulic lash adjusters and all 24 rocker arms. If your doing the same job, I would recommend everything I just mentioned as a must have. The engine I worked had a broken rocker arm, which damaged the camshaft and dropped an intake valve. So yeah, be sure to do those rockers and lash adjusters on one of the worst engines ever designed. The original oil pump is the root cause for the premature failure of the phasers and valvetrain. This M360 pump is a high volume pump that was designed for the Ford GT supercar and GT500.I see now Melling offers an M360HV pump as well. Also as far as priming the oil system goes - itโ€™s difficult with this being a crank mounted/driven pump. I removed the back cover on the pump and filled it will Lucas oil stabilizer, as well as filling up the pick up tube with it as well. I knew I would be firing it up within about 2-3 hours after reassembling everything. I disabled the fuel injectors and ignition, and watching the oil pressure gauge, it was fairly quick to build oil pressure. Enabled fuel and spark again, and it fired up quickly as expected.
