This works well. The knob to adjust focus is stiff but that is a good thing to me. I am replacing a brand new microscope that wouldn't stay in place.

I love microscopes and telescopes and such that let me see up close and far away.I had a microscope much like this as a child and kept it for many years for the memories it conjured. It was a Gilbert brand, received as a Christmas gift and was ordered through a mail-order catalog...probably Sears or Montgomery Wards.Anyway, it helped to establish my future path, for which I am grateful.Now, here we have a microscope in a similar style.It has both a rechargeable light AND a mirror to serve as a reflector. The mirror is a good size and not too small.The eye pieces have quality optical glass in them.The sample slides are easy to view through the eye pieces at all magnification. The slides are an introduction to the possibilities for microscope viewing.The objective lens' are threaded and should be checked for tightness just in case it/they have worked loose.An accessory packet includes extra slides, a tweezer, a brush and puffer (for blowing dust from the lens), slide covers and a few other items.The entire assembly is shipped in a sturdy foam encasement which is also the storage box. A bag is included to use as a dust cover.I found the focusing knob to be stiff and jumpy, especially at higher magnification when small controlled movements are critical to good viewing.A camera mount is included. I used it to take a photo of a slide called 'Berry Hair' at 25x magnification using the battery light. It is shown below.I am pleased to be able to offer this to a child to peak his curiosity and expand his view of the world around him.

This is a really nice children's microscope set -- the microscope appears to be durable and adjustable, and it comes with many accessories including prepared slides. It's a great gift set for young scientists.

My kids and I had an amazing time with this microscope. It is very easy to use and it amazing me you can see things in a different view. Very educational in my opinion.

The base of the scope is decently solid. The magnification is good. The variable LED light is a great feature. Unfortunately mine came with a defective 40x objective lens. There is some issue or debris dead center and it ruins what is otherwise a good experience. My attempt to clean the lens surfaces did not improve it in the least. I recommend checking the product upon receipt. If all is well with the lenses this is a pretty decent beginner scope for young students.The marketing is a bit deceptive with images suggesting that this scope can be used to see viruses & DNA strands. Additionally there are five prepared specimen slides not 15.Some of the accessories such as the pipets, petri dish, knife & the so called dust cover are laughable junk. I would prefer to have a simple carry case instead.

Recently I had gotten my youngest daughter her own microscope and her older sister wanted one as well. Both are heavily engaged in science. I decided to find a second one and came across this one made by OOZSTAR. Now that I have this home, I can tell you that this is a very well designed microscope.
