The two small screws for tag support penetrated the brass body of the backflow preventer valve, when the threaded joint (straight electrical thread, not plumbing tapered thread) between the brass body & steel screws became not water tight the valve started continuously discharge the water, approximately two - three gallons per minute and usually it happens in the middle of the night. Be aware of your stored goods/belongings in the basement/cellar, a specially if you have no floor drain or it doesn’t work properly.

I use this on a residential home forced hot water heating system. It's a beautiful item; heavy, solid, well machined.I especially like that each end has a union with a teflon washer. Once you have the ends installed on the pipes, you can simply slip this in sideways and tighten it up.I used copper male threaded adapters, that screw right into the unions.Although installing it will require some soldering, absolutely no soldering is needed for this device. All soldering will be on the piping prepared to accept this.I wish more valves were designed like this.

looks like a exact replica...but dont be fooled ...it is not. Bottom threads for drain are the same but horizontal connections do not mate up. For some reason just a little off. You have to buy the plumbing hardware to patch it in with new end matchups. The plastic washers for the seal were fine. Bought a backup set at Lowes in case they leaked under tighten up but worked fine. Had to solder in the half inch pipe threaded end caps shown in pics. May have been worth paying little more for the direct swapout in hindsight?
