SO, I have an old Cordless Panasonic Drill/driver that I've had a LONG time, I've tried to not abuse it, but its got its wear. Before it dies on me, battery or whatever, I'd been thinking about getting another Cordless Driver, to just divide up the work, for efficiency's sake. WELL as far as I can tell, Panasonic doesn't even make cordless drill drivers anymore in the style that I have... at least with a "hammer mode" . NOW disclaimer.. not 100% sure on this.Anyways, whatever the case it'd be like buying a new tool brand even if I could find another Panasonic drill probably. (It looks like Panasonic does make drill drivers for the manufacturing industry, who knew?) So I decided after some research/personal experience to just go with Milwaukee's 1/2" drill with a hammer mode. Because my Panasonic doesn't have that.I figure if I take good care of this unit it will pay for itself. Hopefully as good as that Panasonic has. That thing has been wonderful. (If they'd done a better job with their marketing a long time ago, they'd probably have a bigger share of the cordless tool market today, o'well hindsight is 20/20?)I'm hoping I'll have the same luck with this tool as I've had with my Milwaukee saw & impact wrench... which was extremely good! (though I haven't had them a long time, just a few years)I'll give an update on this drill if needed. One thing I noticed, while using it from the get go, is the way the air is pushed out. I'm curious how this design will hold up long term. Like.. (If it will be a adequate)

Milwaukee makes some of the best power tools out there and My father and I have been big fans of them. Back in the day they were not the lightest or smallest but very popular for the power and durability. I was surprised at how small this newer model is and how heavy it is. Still the weight is good and the tool can be comfortably used for extended amount of time. I have no complaints on the drill itself, I mean it’s a beast. My only gripe is that it just comes in a plastic bag. I get that the manufacturer probably doesn’t make retail packaging for just the drills. They usually come in large plastic cases or bags but those kits usually cost $50-100 more. So not bad since the price reflects that but I just doesn’t feel right to get it in a clear plastic bag. The drill is legit and brand new so buy with confidence.

I have the previous generation of this tool and love it, now that I have this one I barely even breakout my old one. This one is so much better, lighter, smaller, faster, simpler to operate and will run all day on a 5.0Ah battery (like the older one I have as well). I heard stories about this model overheating but I haven't experienced any issues and I have put it through it paces with repeated concrete drilling. It did get warm to the touch around the motor but it wasn't in the least bit alarming though it did warm up faster than the Gen 2 I own. I don't think that its unusual to expect being in a smaller just as powerful form fit function. Buy it! Use it! love it!!
