Because another reviewer updated their review with a video on how to get the LCD monitor to work, I have increased my star rating for this mini stepper. You need a flat head screwdriver (or an equivalent) to pop the monitor out and from there you can add a single AAA battery to get the monitor to work. Pressing the red button will give you access to different modes and the screen turns on as you start to use the stepper or press the red button. If you press and hold the red button it will reset the screen and the stepper will also auto-off after it's been idle a few minutes. The instruction manual is irrelevant; it is filled with a bunch of useless "marketing" type of information, but nothing really useful. The stepper did come with all of its accessories and it works. Works okay, but it works. So, it will get the job done even though it is very stiff with no way to adjust the tension (and if there is, it's not mentioned in the manual). My stepper also arrived greasy, not on the foot pads, but everywhere else. The resistance bands are great, but the mat, while a nice touch, has no non-slip properties so I got another. This mini stepper also comes with a dual head allen key, small wrench, and lubricant, but there is absolutely nothing in the instructions on what they are for and where to put the lubricant or when it is needed. Honestly, the best thing about this stepper is its high weight capacity, its ability to be easily moved from place to place, and that it is very quiet.

Red button in the middle never came on and it was super hard to use because of stiffness! Wouldn’t recommend at all!
