Initially used another popular adapter (Lectron) that after a few months started getting too hot and throttled charging rate to 50%. (And that was the 2nd adapter as the 1st one that had a manufacturing defect so it wouldn't seat properly.)Decided I shouldn't cheap out and continue risking a car fire that might burn down my house, so I upgraded to the more expensive TeslaTap. Quality feels great, it fits perfectly, and most importantly it stays nice and cool. Small investment for better safety, performance, and peace of mind!

Writing a review since it was harder than I thought it would be to find an adapter that works with 4xe and the tesla charger. I tried 2 others but they did not work. However, there are extra steps I followed in order to get this working. The adapter has now worked for about 2 weeks and I will come back and update if something goes wrong. Here are the step the I took to get this working with my Tesla Gen3 Charger (White Box)1. According to Tesla you cannot use Gen2 charger (Black Box)2. Charging did not work until I registered a new user to use the charger. This was done through the Tesla application. This step makes me think that other adapters may work since I did not perform this step with the other adapters.3. Make sure the Tesla app is open and then apply the adapter to the tesla charger. The light on the Tesla charger will turn blue and then back to green4. Plug in the charger to the Jeep get the red/blue/green light and then start charging (should work)5. If you get the 2 red lights unplug the charger and push the button on the Tesla wand. The tesla box light should turn blue and then green OR stay blue (both have happened for me). Plug back into the Jeep and it should work.I rated 5 stars because it work but if it could be 4.5 I would since it doesn't snap into place on the tesla wand.

Have a 2025 Genesis GV60. Other L2 charger didn't work, actually drained my battery and had to get towed. As I already had a Tesla connector, figured I'd try the Tesla Tap. A bonus is the Tesla connector with Tesla Tap is so much lighter and smaller than the J1772, including the "head". Much and easier to insert and remove. Great product.

After buying 5 different adapters to charge my Jeep with my home Tesla charger I found one that work for my Jeep the TESLATap MINI 60 amp. It is very well made and it is expensive but you get. What you pay

Very expensive but if you look at the construction it is USA made with machined aluminum and brass fittings. I saw on the post these get stuck but those are the old ones. The new Tesla Tap minis slide on and off very easily. They are weather proof. They cost twice as much as the clones but you will not risk burning up your Tesla connector or your vehicle connector. I use this for my Gen 3 Tesla wall adapter and charge my Rivian truck 48 amps 240v no heating up and charges every time no issue. Careful of the knockoffs made in Ch+-#.

Worked great the first 2-3 months I had it. Then just stopped working. I called the seller and he no longer replies. Also put in a warrantee request on his website. Still no reply. I am willing to take this review off if the seller will contact me and refund me or send a replacement tap.

Used on a 2023 Volvo. Works well. I did not have challenges with a tight fit as some have described. I bought the 60amp version as my car tops out at 48. I was able to charge at 48amps for an hour with no heat felt in the adapter at all. It’s incredibly compact and very well built. Excellent back up plan to add a few more chargers around in case I need them! Follow the instructions printed on the adapter - and it works. I recommend using locks if leaving it unattended in public. Two things you need to know:First: not for superchargers. This is only for destination chargers only. Don’t buy this thinking you can use a supercharger then get mad that you can’t. This is _only_ for the Tesla destination chargers which are basically a regular level 2 charger with a Tesla plug.Second:Not all Tesla destination chargers will work, they have to be set up for “All Vehicles” by the owner/admin of the charger. This is done via the Tesla admin interface on the charger itself. If it is set to either of the “Tesla Only” settings - it won’t charge your non-Tesla car even if you have an adapter like this. So if you *have* to be able to charge somewhere or you’re stranded - I would check with the people who maintain the charger before you go - cause if you get to somewhere like a hotel thinking you will use this and the night desk clerk has no idea what you are talking about, then you are stuck. Call ahead if it’s that important to you. If you’re just using your own Tesla charger or a friends charger - it’s easy to configure.
