So 1st use capturing lightning from a Southern Arizona Monsoon. Set up is super simple, but use the APP trying to utilize the controls on the unit drove me to distraction. Some things I would like to see improved is AGC for the lightning detector, The plastic hotshoe mount does not look all that rugged, luckily I have several hotshoe to 1/4-20 adapters, and that is the screw mount point on the bottom of the unit. It took 96 tries last night to get this image, but if I had been shooting manually, well, I would still be out there. I would also love to see a IP64 rating at least for the device. I am going to use it in inclement weather, so either that or a housing/cover to protect it. But so far happy with the product and price point! Sadly, the bundles available from Amazon did not have the cable needed for my D7200 Nikon, but I had a spare laying around, so... Make sure you verify your camera model for the cables, or order the proper cable with the unit.

Cheaply made, could be more sensitive. There are sferics devices that detect lightning discharges from over 100 miles away but this box did not detect discharges within 15-20miles at the highest sensitivity. A bit over rated but would be worth around half the price.

Purchased the device to catch thunder & lightning. The 'laser' mode turns out to be great.Using it on a Nikon D850 and Nikon D5300.

Ich bastel gerne an eigenen außergewöhlichen (technischen) Fotos, dazu bietet der Trigger ein Vielzahl an praktischen Möglichkeiten. Die Einstellmöglichkeiten sind ausreichend um den meisten Situationen gerecht zu werden, die Auslösung erfolgt, wenn man ein wenig mit den Einstellungen experimentiert, sehr zuverlässig.In manchen Fällen ist die Auslöseverzögerung der Kamera zu lang, dann gibt es aber die Möglichkeit die Aktion über einen Synchronblitzanschluß mit den Kompaktblitzen einzufrieren, ein dickes Plus (Für die Auslöseverzögerung der Kamera kann der Trigger nichts).Für mich ein Klasse Hilfsmittel um Aufnahmen entstehen zu lassen, die man mit der reinen Reaktionszeit eines Menschen nicht wiederholbar einfangen kann.

It functions fine. 4 stars because the cable that came with it for my Nikon D850 is complete garbage. Thankfully I have another cable that works just fine. The one that came with the MIOPS won't lock (screw) down so I am worried that it could fall out or even worse short something out. It's a shame to have a very nice, seemingly well made product and pair it with one of the worst cables I have ever seen.[Revised Sept 18 2018] Down to 3 stars and trying to figure out how to get a replacement unit as even when fully charged the connection keeps getting dropped. I don't ever have the same problem with any other device that I connect my phone to.

The MIOPS Smart trigger is perfect for everything I've used it for. I've used it for triggering lightning, breaking a laser beam and glass breaking sounds. The quality is professional, and you can use it with the mobile phone app but also I like to use it without a mobile phone. The choice of using a mobile phone or not using one was my deciding factor. It will last for many years - it's awesome!!!

**Updating Review** Super disappointed by this seller "Quantum Networks" but thankfully the Manufacture cares enough about their products to step in and correct this sellers questionable practices. Its never acceptable to send someone a used item (and blame it on Amazon) when the maker of that item is COUNTING ON YOU to be an ambassador for their products. All said and done, I finally got my trigger and this thing is AMAZING!! It's CRAZY how configurable this device is and can also be 100% controlled from your phone, WoW.... works just like I thought it would/should and if you are on the fence about spending the money on this thing, just do it you won't regret the purchase (I would just STRONGLY recommend not buying from the aforementioned seller).

Habe schon lange nach einem "Highspeed Trigger" gesucht, aber bisher waren mir die Teile einfach zu teuer und für selbstbau Lösungen fehlt mir das technische Wissen...Mit dem MIOPS kann man Kinderleicht super Highspeed Fotos machen. Dazu gibt es bei Youtube genug Videos.Zu den Funktionen schreibe ich hier mal nichts, da alle Infos auf der HP bzw. in den Videos zu finden sind.Hänge noch ein Foto an, bei dem ich eine Glühbirne zerschossen habe (im Sound Modus) und die Blitze mit dem Miops ausgelöst habe. Für das Foto habe ich genau 2 Birnen benötigt ( das erste Foto war einwandfrei, aber die Birne ist nicht so "schön" zerberstet"....).

Works Great ! Only one minor problem. The on off switch can be a little tighter so it wont turn on / off just by being bumped.I use tape on it so it cant be turned on or off while in camera bag.
