We recommend that you periodically remove the prop to check for foreign debris or fishing line that may have gotten behind the prop. If always left there, the fishing line can actually damage the moto prop shaft seals, allowing water to enter into the lower unit. And this could result in a costly repair.
This kit can meet your need - prop nut, pin and washer are all included. Great for complete backup for parts on your trolling motor. You own this extra prop which is always handy in an emergency.

Easy & Convenient to Use:
Step 1. Insert the large shear pin into the hole of the drive rod (Notice that the length of the two ends should be consistent);
Step 2. Horizontally aligns the slot on the back of the propeller with the clamping pin and puts it into the propeller;
Step 3. Beat into the spiral blade and put the washer;
Step 4. Use a crescent or socket wrench (Not included) to tighten the prop nut and install finished.
Propeller Replacement Guides:
Step 1. Disconnect the motor from the battery before changing the propeller;
Step 2. Hold the propeller and loosen prop nut with pliers or wrench;
Step 3. Remove prop nut and washer. If drive pin is sheared/broken, you will need to hold the shaft steady with a screwdriver blade pressed into the slot on the end of the shaft;
Step 4. Turn the old prop to horizontal for preventing the drive pin from falling out, and pull it straight off. If drive pin falls out, push it back into the armature shaft;
Step 5. Align new propeller with the drive pin;
Step 6. Install prop washer and prop nut;
Step 7. Tighten prop nut 1/4 turn past snug, [25-35 inch lbs.].
Be careful: Over tightening prop nut can damage prop and bend the drive pin.

FORTREX 80 install: Like others have mentioned, the shear pin is slightly larger than the hole in the spindle. After a little boring out, I was able to tap it in. Bright side is that this pin will not just fall out during emergency fishline removal in the middle of a lake like the previous one did.

If you have a trolling motor with a pin, you need to carry a backup. If you drop that little pin in the lake you wish you had these. Thankfully I have these as a spare!

Occasionally I snap the drive pin on my Minn Kota trolling motors on my scratch built solar powered deck boat. So I keep a supply of these kits just in case. They never fail to fit and are easy to replace.
