Mobilgrease 28 is a supreme performance, wide-temperature, antiwear grease designed to combine the unique features of a polyalphaolefin (PAO) synthetic base fluid with an organo-clay (non-soap) thickener. Its consistency is between an NLGI No. 1 and No. 2 grease. It offers outstanding performance over a wide temperature range. The wax-free nature of the synthetic base fluid, together with its high viscosity index compared to mineral oils, provide excellent low temperature pumpability, very low starting and running torque, and can help reduce operating temperatures in the load zone of rolling element bearings. The clay thickener gives Mobilgrease 28 a high dropping point value of around 300ºC, which provides excellent stability at high temperatures. Mobil grease 28 resists water washing, provides superior load-carrying ability, reduces frictional drag, and prevents excessive wear. Tests show that Mobil grease 28 lubricates effectively rolling element bearings under conditions of high speeds and temperatures. Mobilgrease 28 has also shown excellent ability to lubricate heavily loaded sliding mechanisms, such as wing flap screw jacks. For more than 30 years, Mobilgrease 28 has been the multi-purpose grease of choice for military and related aviation applications, worldwide. Mobil - Mobilgrease 28 Aviation Grease Features and Benefits: A particular requirement of aviation greases is the need to resist high temperature stresses, while providing excellent starting and low torque at low-temperature. To meet this combination of needs ExxonMobil product formulation scientists chose synthetic hydrocarbon base oils for Mobilgrease 28 because of their low volatility, exceptional thermal/oxidative resistance, and superb low-temperature capability. Formulators chose specific thickener chemistry and a proprietary additive combination which helps maximize the benefits of the synthetic base oils.

From what I read online, it's recommended to replace the factory grease in Baofeng BBS02 ebike motors with this grease at or before 1000 miles for all motors, or immediately if your motor sounds a bit louder than it should and may not have enough grease from the factory. I did this at around 1000 miles and my ebike is now at 3500 miles with no motor issues, so seems to be doing its job. When replacing the grease, just wipe off as much of the factory grease as you can, then pack is much of this into the gears as you can, like you would when packing a wheel bearing. I still have a bunch of it left and it's good quality, so I'll probably use it for my car and other tools that need grease.

This is the grease that users of Bafang e-bike conversion motors preferred for finishing the job that Bafang started. Wish it was available in smaller quantities. Very expensive!

I like this grease because it stays where you put it. It doesn't turn runny and ooze away from the gears where you need it. This grease is made for aviation motors and gears where you need dependable products to keep your plane in the air. This really is the best gease for ebike motors because they work hard and get hot.

My ebike rear hub motor was becoming noisy and YouTube videos showed others using this lubricant. When I took the rear hub motor apart it had old gummy white lithium grease and rust that I removed with spray brake cleaner, an old toothbrush and a green pot scrubber pad. Then reassembled after lubricating we’ll with this high temperature grease. Now my ebike is very quiet! Highly recommend.

One of my industrial electrician friends has me using Mobile 28 aviation grease for my vintage Singer Sewing Machine worm gears. I’ve used her supply for several years and just nowbought my own supply. I opened the grease gun container and scooped it all into a jar to put on my workbench.

This was recommended to put in a warn winch and hopefully will not cause gears to cease up. Time will tell!

I bought this grease for BBSHD Bafang mid drive.Prior to use the mid drive sounded like I was grinding metal on metal. The Chinese used grease that was crappy.A previous video on YouTube suggested this brand. No more metal grinding. Now my motor purrs along like fan without its blades. My bike tires are louder.I also get better top end speed. The goop likes like ketchup but don’t be fooled this stuff is toxic,Ware black rubber gloves when using.
