Super versatile tool for scribing, or chiseling out injection mold release pins, super sharp, this is my go to tool for a lot of different applications..

This was a recent purchase in an attempt to get some cheap gravers for stone carving. Some colleagues noticed me etching a bunch of runes into an alabaster cylinder on a break and expressed interest in a piece similar to what I was making. I got these to make carving alabaster and soapstone a bit easier and I must say I'm rather pleased with the set. They come in a clear plastic carrying case with a secondary case containing the gravers, an allen wrench and a replacement grub screw.I will say that they are definitely something you wouldn't put to use engraving metal as they seem hard as a coffin nail and would likely be prone to breakage on anything harder than my intended material. The build quality is quite good, though the hollow handle is rather light. Knurling on the grip is comfortable, and even being hollow, the handle feels solid. There's no flex from my squeezing it in my gorilla hands, and it fits quite nicely in my palms. To solve the weight issue I'm planning on filling the handle with some epoxy resin as I don't see the hollow handle being reliable for storage. The business end contains a through-hole into the handle that you'd end up losing the gravers through if you tried using it as a travel carry case. The little case it comes with is compact enough for my needs, and sturdy enough that I'll be keeping it all in there instead. Would definitely purchase again and recommend to anyone needing gravers for working polystyrene for model making. They scribe a line quite well when paired with a straight edge.

Very well built, like the handle fells good in your hand and is non slip.Keeping the handle and the chisels in the nice plastic case that came with it.Wish the sizes were stamped on the chisels but maybe it would be too small to read. Caliber solves the need.

Packaging was secure and robust. Product itself is as described. Product works as intended. I'd imagine the smaller blades would be more fragile, so use an appropriate amount of caution while using to avoid breaking them, i.e. don't use the .1 as a prybar...duh.

I use this product for modling, mostly carving polystyrene train car models. For that purpose it is well suited. Square edges on the bits are also useful in shaving flash without wear on the cutting edge.A few things could make it better: The wee plastic case is nice, but needs space for the hex wrence and spare set screw. Marking the different bits would save me from having to strain my old eyes or get out the calipers. The set screw tightens on a corner of the bit, which is unexpected and means inserting a new bit involves some fumbling. A stop in the handle to keep bits from vanishing from sight would also be nice. All of that is not enough to discourage me from recommending this tool, which works well once these issues are dealt with.

The chisels were fairly priced, but the Allen key tool for tightening the set screw barely fits into the hex on the screw.I noticed that the smallest chisel was shipped to me with the tip already broken. I have just worked around it by using the other sizes, but it is a bit annoying.
