I bought this for a pontoon that stays in a lake for the summer. This fitting connects well to the fuel hose but the threads were damaged and I had to sand them to get it to stop leaking fuel. The molded plastic wrap on the fitting is pretty cheap and I doubt it will hold up to the sun over the years to come. I would recommend trying other options before this one.

We have a 2006 Mercury 50 hp, and a new (circa 2022) Mercury 5hp. We bought this fitting (advertised here and elsewhere to fit 1998 and newer Mercurys) to connect the fuel line from either motor, to a 6 gallon portable tank. It would not go into the female fitting, which is the same fitting that goes fine into both the large and small motors. So, we ordered a FiveOceans FO4408 (which is for PRE 1998 mercury motors), and it fits great. Haven't tried it out yet, so hope it doesn't leak. Doesn't make sense.

This connector threads into a marine outboard fuel tank to connect to the fuel line for a Mercury outboard engine. It is well built, doesn't leak and performs as intended. I will buy more of these as I need them.

Bought this to use with my Attwood Marine 6-gal fuel tank. I originally bought the Attwood connector but didn't like how the connections pointed out towards the side. Got this since it looked like it was what people were using for their Attwood tanks (according to the "customers also bought...").The connector itself is nicely made, however the threads (while the same type[1/4"]) are larger in diameter than the Attwood connector making it more difficult to screw into the tank. There is also no wrench hex on this Moeller connector, making it that much more difficult to screw in. I had to resort to using channelock pliers to attach it.
