I have two of these valves and they work great. The pointer can be confusing as it doesn't always point at the tank you are drawing from but I don't know how Moeller could have made that happen based on the type of valve it is, you just need to know ahead of time what position does what. The valve has four positions. Your options are, draw from tank A, draw from tank B, closed or closed. (Two positions are closed.) Anyway, it works perfect for me.

Seems to be well made and a good value for the money. You can rotate the mechanism completely to the wrong direction, but if you just take some time to look at how it operates before you install it, you'll be fine. The detents are decently solid enough to know when it has switched properly.

Valve Does what it was designed to doA 3 way valve does NOT allow drawing from the two tanks simultaneously. Because when one tank eventually runs out you will be drawing air into the system from that empty tank. That would prevent drawing fuel properly from the tank that has some left in it. The valve only allows drawing from one port/tank or the other, but not at the same time. The other two positions are OFF on A 3 way valve. The pointer on the handle is not necessarily pointing at the port it is drawing from, this is solved by properly labeling where the handle points as to which tank/port is being utilized. The valve is of good quality and works as it should.

The arrow on handle of this valve isn't very intuitive (pointing it in the direction of the tank you want isn't how it is really set up) but I just wrote down which way to turn the valve for port/starboard fuel tanks in my boat just behind the valve. The valve itself is very well constructed and the 'clicks' that hold the valve in position are very solid feeling and it is easy to know when the valve is fully turned to any of the 4 positions (2 are 'off' , 1 is left tank, 1 is right tank). Pretty solid valve overall, I would put this in any boat that needs a fuel valve to control 2 tanks. Has 2 holes in the valve body for mounting the valve to something sturdy. I bought 'andersen metals' brass hose barbed fittings that have a 3/8 male pipe fitting thread that fits into the three 3/8 female pipe threads in this valve. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BPIM5O/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_16

Seems like a nice valve, but not what i needed. This valve also includes an off position where none of the ports flow. That could be helpful for some applications, but for my use it won't do.In my case to avoid catastrophic failure the input port must always be connected to one of the two output port. I can't afford to use this part and risk the user error that someone (including me) could mistakenly shut everything off.If your need is like mine, search on Amazon for "apollo diverter valve" it appears that they make quality diverter valves that are suitable for industrial use. They also tell you the specs such as pressure rating, and state if it can be used with water, oil, or gas. I Wish i had knownthis before i bought this item

I didn't realize it until I received it but this is exactly the same valve that I'm replacing. Had I known I would have considered spending more for another. It's a decent valve that served us for about 20 years before failing. Maybe that's all once can expect from this type of valve but I'm guessing a heavier valve might last longer.
