Been in need of a mortar to grind up spices for some time. This is perfect for that and much more. It weighs a ton! Definitely not something you'd want to drop on your foot or a marble countertop. They do provide an anti-slip mat and a small spoon. Probably won't have to replace it but I would purchase again. Possibly as a gift.

The set was made from polished Natural Marble and was gorgeous. It was a gift for my grand daughter and she absolutely loved it. This set would definitely last a lifetime.

I purchased this to crush medications and create smaller capsules for my cat. I honestly felt like this is a steal of a product. The gripper mat and brushes included are very useful. I also received a little note and card of gratitude from the creators. These small touches for the consumer went a long way ON TOP of the product being heavy, sturdy, and gorgeous. I love it. I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

I was really hoping it would look more purple like the picture shows it to look, since the favorite color of the person I bought it for is purple. That said, it does seem to be heavy and as sturdy as granite or marble is. I'm not sure if it is true marble or not, but it seems to be non porous and a breeze to clean, which is great for mashing up peppers and various spices and herbs, since you don't want everything to blend together when you are making a curry seasoning mix vs a savory but not spicy seasoning mix. The pestle is well made and also great and appears to be non porous. It is designed to not scrape the bowl up which is really nice.

I bought this Mortal and Pestle Set because I have taken up incense making and need something to crush harder materials. Not only does this set appear to be of the highest quality, it also seems as if it will last for a very long time. It's heavier than I expected, which makes it feel more durable. Add to this the fact that it is quite an attractive piece; I'm very happy with this purchase.Also, really nice seller.

THIS IS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! I have been wanting a mortar and pestle for a long time and I finally got one! This one far exceeded what I thought I was gonna receive at this price point . The dark gray marble is beautiful and it is heavier than I thought it would be! I know with out a doubt this will be around for many many years to come because of how well it’s made! If you are undecided on where or not to purchase I would ABSOLUTELY WITHOUT A DOUBT RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS MORTAR AND PESTLE SET. You won’t be sorry!

I have used mortars and pestles all of my cooking life. I like smashing garlic better than any other method of preparing them for cooking so, believe me when I say, this is the best set I have ever used. The accompanying rubber mat keeps the mortar firmly in place; hence, no slipping around. The mortar and pestle are made from heavy marble stone with rough surfaces where the marble meets the garlic, making them so much easier and efficient to crush. In the past, I added salt to the garlic so in wouldn't slip around the pestle as I worked; not any more! As an added bonus, the set is attractive enough to display.
