The jump rope has the rope that looks like a long antennae spinning around and didn't keep our kids entertained. It is easily broke and stopped spinning and ended up in the trash.

I bought this for my daughter who doesn't jump rope and although the idea of it is good I find it moves pretty fast for a child.

I’ve been looking for a way to exercise more but have been so unmotivated. When I saw this it just looked fun so I pulled the trigger.I completely charged it before using it (I think that’s my procrastination kicking in) and wasn’t sure what to expect when I turned it on (you need the remote control to turn it on). The videos make this look like it goes wicked fast and yea it CAN go that fast - but thankfully it also can go super slow!It comes with two “ropes” that screw into the sides of the gizmo. If you want you can use both at the same time, but I just put one on. Who knows once I get any stamina and master the one rope maybe I’ll put the second in. But for now, I’m mighty pleased with this jump rope machine!Oh - I also like how small it is. I mean, the body of the machine is about as wide around as a smoke detector and the ropes can screw on and off easily too. I can’t foresee traveling with this but it would take up very little room in a suitcase if anyone wanted to do that.

TL;DR Review:Not for younger kids, but could be a good workout for adults/older kids if you have the patience to figure it out.The Details:Bought this for my young kid (3+) to burn off some energy inside during the colder months. She lost interest after a few minutes because it is a little bit more complicated to use. First, the remote is pretty sensitive, so you have to be on the right side of the device and fairly close for it to register your clicks. Second, it picks up to a pace that is pretty advanced for a smaller kid, even when adjusting it with the remote.Overall:If you are looking for something for an older kid or as an adult for some exercise, this may be a better fit for you. But if you are looking for a younger kid-friendly activity, I'd look elsewhere.

My wife tried it out but quickly conceded that it is for younger people! Our grandkids love it.We use just one rope because with two you just can't keep up. our 7, 9, and 12 year old grandkids play a game to see who can score the most jumps before missing. Superb exercise for days when the weather keep them inside.A real favorite; has kept them screaming and laughing for days. We recommend this for young children but our 12 year old was the one who organized the game. For beginners, it is best to take turns. After a while two can jump at one time. When the three of them try, it usually ends up never making it a full circle before someone has messed up. BUT that's the FUN for kids - the challenge! We love the giggles and laughter coming from their playroom when they get this jump rope machine out!

Teaching a fitness class at my karate school for 20 years I know a LOT about jumping rope.If your looking to this for fitness as an adult, I'd keep looking, however for children its a very fun toy that gives them the added bonus of getting off the couch and exercising.Main issue I see is that the ropes are simply too short, especially for adults. First, using both ropes you better be real good at jumping rope, because even on the slow speed 2 ropes is very challenging. One rope is very doable, however the rope is very short, and also thin, making it hard to see and you have to jump fairly close to the unit, a longer rope would have fixed the issue however the nature of the device probably prohibits that, the rope would drag too much, thus the shorter stiff rope.Great toy for children, they can make a game out of it since it keeps score for you, if the rope hits you it doesn't count, kids love it, tested it out at my karate school, it was a hit, as far as adults, not something I would recommend.
