There was a little bit of cleanup of metal shavings, left from the dye when cutting threads, for mirror brackets, other than that they fit and look great !

They seem pretty solid. Everything works, they don't shake, they improve visibility when towing, they are easy to install, they bolt up tight. The only thing I can knock is the adjustment motor is a bit loud and not as smooth as the OEM, but it works.Great upgrade if you're going to tow.

Was all nervous after reading the reviews but I needed tow mirrors in a bad way so I pulled the trigger on these. studs are all the correct length (no cutting) no need at all for extra support bracket, and they don't shake at all. solid upgrades. after watching youtube video on removing door panel it took me 10 minutes each side to complete. you can go get the turn signals to work at dealer but who cares I needed the vision not the lights. puddle lights? really? go drive your prius. I pull a 26' enclosed car trailer and these mirrors are exactly what I needed.

You may be looking for a good set of replacement mirrors, I'm here to tell you these are it. I spent hours reading reviews trying to find the best mirror possible, these came sturdy packed in a box surrounded by styrofoam. These were very easy to install. With basic tools and knowledge you too can install these. I had basic mirrors on a 2011 ram 1500 Big Horn, I have puddle lights and blinkers. Everything works great besides the mirror controls being inverted when you flip them up. Which you can research a way of doing it or take it to your local ram dealer.Sturdy and interstate and highway speeds. Since I had basic mirrors I would recommend adding some fender washers, the trucks with factory tow mirrors have a support bracket.

I have a 2013 Ram 1500 Tradesman that I bought used. It has a crazy option list but was missing the tow mirrors to go with the tow package it was ordered with. After a lot of research, I ended up pulling the plug on these mirrors, even though I figured the cost of getting the puddle lights and turn signals would be too much of a splurge at the dealer. The first thing I noticed when they arrived is how HEAVY they are! I thought maybe there was a mistake, so I opened the box even though I wasn't ready to install. They even come in soft "pillowcases" to keep them from getting scratched in transit! I doubt they need it, since the Styrofoam is really tight and keeps them snuggled up well! They come with all the wiring for the installed lights and sensors, which plugged right into the controller in the door panels. After installing the brackets (very worthwhile for stability) these bolted right in and worked great, giving me a huge view with the addition of the convex mirrors on the side/bottom.After installation, I used AlphaOBD to set the orientation of the controls, the puddle lights and the turn signals. For $49, I now have access to other options on the truck as well, so I feel better than spending over $100 at the dealer for a single visit! I now have fully operational tow mirrors that work so well. I towed my fifth wheel for the first time with these and the view was amazing! I could see so much with the super wide convex mirror and the main morrors are great as well.If you tow an RV trailer, these are necessary for safety. I used to have clip on mirrors that really helped, but just didn't do the trick. These make me feel much better about what is going on behind me! With the convex mirrors, I can see the next lane as well as the front tires on the trailer at the same time, while the main mirror can be used for normal traffic view.

Unlike the factory mirrors, when you move these to vertical position, the controls are backwards. Someone said programming the LEG mode would cure that. But I doubt it. What actually tells the door controls that the mirror is vertical? Be sure to program the LEB and LEC to get the puddle lights and turn signals to work. Dealers charge anywhere from $125-$177 for this, although on guy on the forum got it done for $30 (nice dealer). I paid $160 and the controls are still backwards. Also the optic clarity is not as smooth as the factory mirrors (very slight distortion, like all cheap mirrors have).UPDATE:Here's the latest news on getting your tow mirrors to work properly. I have a 2017 RAM 1500 Tradesman. I bought aftermarket tow mirrors off Amazon, black on the back, not chrome. I installed them easily (the long bolt on the inside bolt that was hitting the door jam and needed to be cut off, was already shortened on this version. I guess they learned their lesson). Of course the puddle light and turn signal didn't work. I took it to the dealer and they programmed the LED and LEC code (puddle light and turn signal). But, when I turned them to vertical position, the controls were off 90 degrees (left/right made them go up/down, etc). So I scrounged around on the internet and some place (I forget where) I found there is one more code, LEG, which controls the movement when they go to vertical. Everyone on the forum said that only worked on OEM mirrors, not aftermarket. And nobody, not even the tech at the dealer, knows what triggers the change. Someone suggested mercury switches in the mirrors, but we know that's not correct because the EPA got rid of mercury switches many years ago. Anyway, for those of you that want to try it, the LEG code does work on my aftermarket mirrors. The tech said maybe not all aftermarket mirrors would work, but you have to have all three codes to get these mirrors to work properly. My cost to program was $129 (very expensive in my book for something that took literally 15 minutes maximum.)
