I bought this DC motor controller to replace the controller on my 72" Belt sander build. I salvaged a 2.5 hp 90v treadmill motor and have been using a cheap motor controller I built myself a few months ago. (works fine just really touchy, so I wanted a nicer and easier to use controller)The controller looks great and was easy to set up with the 2 AC posts and 2 DC posts (kind of hard to screw that up). However, when I hooked it up to my motor, and moved the dial to any setting, the motor would turn on for about 1 second, then turn off for about 2 seconds and repeat this cycle as long as it was on. So I hooked up my voltage meter to the output pots with the motor disconnected. The readings are listed on the attached image.The DC voltage looks good and scales well at about 12-15% voltage increase per setting from 2 to 6, but 7, 8,9 and max are basically useless. The real issue is the fact that there is AC VOLTAGE ON THE DC POSTS! It quickly works its way up to about 50v AC by setting 5 and levels out there for the rest of the dial settings. There is not supposed to be both AC and DC voltage on the same output!I figured this was just a faulty controller so i set up the return and bought a second one. The only thing good about the second one is that it showed up the following day on next day delivery. When I opened the amazon package, the first thing i noticed was that the "Tamper Seal" stickers were ripped of and it looked like someone tried to pry it open with a screw driver. So for giggles, i hooked up AC power and tested the output. Both controllers had the same readings and acted the same.UPDATE - I have now tested 3 different DC motor controllers similar to this one and they ALL put out AC and DC voltage on the DC voltage leads. However, a more expensive 400W controller actually spun the motor without skipping but only reached 10v DC before maxing the wattage of the controller. So it looks like i need a stronger wattage controller to run my motor, but this one is clearly not a 500W controller.Clearly this company doesn't care about their product or their customers because they are reselling returned/broken/tampered items as new items.DO NOT BUY OR WASTE YOUR TIME
