The installation was easy. Removed the old valve (mileage: 117K) and installed this unit. So far the check engine light has reset, gas mileage is back to normal, no power loss, and fully functional. It will be nice for the seller to add a small lubricant to break seal (rust) from old bolts before installing new EGR valve. I will update this review after 3 months with a progress report.

excellent i got this part here in amazon for 60 dollars cheaper than my local auto part store. i took out the old part put the new part and as soon as i turn on my vehicle i could easily notice the difference. after i test drive my 2004 ford explorer, it has faster acceleration and it didn't feel heavy or slow like before with the bad part, now with the new part it feels lighter and faster, with the old part the check engine light will turn on again the same day after erasing the code, now 4 days later after erasing the code and putting the new part the check hasn't come back. so yes i'm very happy with this product and is also a genuine part not a replacement. this part fixed error code P0401 and P0402 for me. perfect fit. excellent results

This part fits 2006 Ford Explorer. One tip: if you want to do this job in twenty minutes. Purchase the EGR mounting bracket from Ford (about 40 bucks). Call ford parts. you are looking for just the bracket (EGR sensor comes with a gasket). The bracket is not sold in auto part stores. The bolts that attach the sensor to the bracket are usually fused on there (two 10 mm bolts). It's not worth the time to get the bolts off when you can purchase the bracket, Pull off the bracket (two 8 mm bolts) I should say twist off as there is housing attached. Bolt up the new sensor to the new bracket and twist in. Connect and done. The exhaust tube can be loosened with an adjustable wrench. Take off blower assembly and get at it that way. Save yourself 200-300 bucks and say goodbye to the check engine lamp. 8 mm and 10 mm. Deep sockets and an open end 8 mm are needed.
