Had to buy two of these because I accidentally broke the first one (my fault). Both seem to read 200-300 rpms higher when looking at the gauge straight-on. Would suggest seating it so the needle is viewed in line with "0" when sitting on bike for a more accurate reading while riding.

The long Red wire needs to go to the battery + side and the long Black wire needs to go to the - battery side(negative) the Small Green wire need to be grounded out and the Small Black wire needs to go to something that will power up when you turn the key on the Yellow wire goes to the + (positive side of you spark plug coil) not the green one but the other one beside it mine was black yours could be different. So if you do exactly like I said it'll work. Run the wires to your battery and not something else that you could splice into to get power because I tried that and all it would do is light up but then I redid everything just like I said and it started working perfect for me

The product itself is well made and easy to read but what let's it down is the lack of instructions. Indicating what wire colour gets connected is a little confusing. What is needed is how the connection is made. After trial and error the needle still doesn't work (the lights do), so off it comes and no return as I dropped it after I removed it.
