Using a directional Shroud engineered for maximum feed-casting distance, this gallon feeder places feed along a narrower 30-degree path. Bring game into open view along pathways or trails and reduce the feed waste of traditional 360-degree spin-cast feeders.

Corn should be fine, fish feed is okay to use but not great. If it begins to jam you will need to clean the area on top of the spinner and put it back together. Mine clumped up even running every day. Can be annoying, but clean it out every so often and it’s cheaper than other fish feeders for sure.

Originally we found this product was a great addition to our property. However, with a couple rain storms the electric feeder base has now filled with water and burned out. The only thing that works now is the digital display still able to run direct off solar. We have attempted to contact the manufacturer to see what we can do about replacement and finding a resolution to this problem since it is advertised as an outdoor unit. And help from the distributor would be appreciated.

Works as stated.. easy assembly.. good battery life.. keep extra battery on hand so I can swap out without losing memory of settings… seen a few bad reviews on here but you can break open your wallet and buy an expensive one and eliminate some of your problems… just can’t fill past 3/4 full or impeller seems to bind, probably from weight of corn because don’t have that problem with pelleted feed…

The barrel can't be filled up or the feeder can't take the weight and won't throw the feed. The barrel where the feed is held does not leak, but when it rains water runs down the outsides and right into the feed distribution unit on the bottom. On mine, the motor shorts out the battery and the unit stops working until it is disassembled and dried out. The feed also clogs up the chute and needs to be scraped out. Also it is very important to use at least a 5 amp battery. Otherwise the spinner doesn't throw the feed very far. (or at all) Since I use feeders on a remote property, it's very inconvenient to have to drive all the way out there every time it rains to correct the issues. I find overall most 6 volt feeders are not worth the cost. They just aren't dependable enough to use unless you want to visit them almost every day to make sure that they are still working. I've started converting over to 12 volt feeders and have yet to be disappointed.

Make sure you get the right battery. I would have given this 5 stars if they were more specific about what battery it requires. It needs a 6 volt lantern battery that is also a 5 amp battery. It’s nearly impossible to find this specification any where on a battery but I contacted Moultrie and they suggested using an Energizer battery which is 6v and 5 amp. With the battery it works perfectly. I initially tried an Everready 6v battery which is only 4 amps. It would not work at all and I had no indication as to why until I contacted Moultrie. It is a long story but this caused me all kind of trouble and wasted time. This could have been easily avoided with just a little more info on which battery to use.

This feeder is a great idea and once the thing is together should work great for both pond feeding and in the woods. However, they keep sending broken or incomplete units. My first one was obviously a prior return that was passed on to me before the issue was resolved (electrical wires to the feed spinner were not hooked up). The second one is good mechanically but is missing the hooks for the ratchet straps used for hanging the unit. I was able to find a work around for this issue but I feel like I shouldn't have to fix new merchandise. This probably doesn't happen to everyone but if you take a chance on this feeder just be prepared to fix something or be ok waiting for a replacement/return.

Le distributeur se remplie d'eau et le rend inutilisable . Ne recommande vraiment cet article nouvellement acheté car de plus il n'y a de politique de retour chez Amazon pour un article acheté après plus d'un mois, acheté le 12 avril 2019

Product works as expected. It comes with no battery and you MUST use the correct capacity 6V battery to activate the motor. At least a 12A-hr rating capacity. The Energizer 6 volt battery and the 908 Duracell has enough energy to power the motor. The Moultrie 6 volt rechargeable battery only provides 5A-hr and the Wildgame type provides 4.5A-hr capacity for double the price. The Duracell 908 is a far better alternative. The Amp Hour (A-hr) specification provides a measurement of the charge that can be delivered by the battery.

I purchased this hearing the reviews about it plugging up after rain and sure enough it does. Every time. Easy fix though. Clean out wet feed and reassemble spreader to drum . Then use some bearing grease to fill in around spreader where it attaches. Don't leave any holes. It's been working great right thru the rains now.
