Great feeder however the deer and elk will lick the bottom of the feeder and it drops feed all day long. If you cut a coffee can bottom out it fits perfectly between the tank and spreader preventing all you can eat buffet.

I really like the holder and the tripod. I like how lightweight, easy to set up and portable it is. The tripod seems nice and stable even when the feeder is loaded with corn. This is 5 stars. The spreader, though, sucks. If the batteries are not in there perfect, it will reset itself or not work. One star on the spreader.

I ordered the Ultimate, which should include enough leg sections to adjust the height from 5.5’ to 8.5’ which includes feet to go on the bottom of the legs. The product only came with enough legs sections to get to 5.5’ and no feet. Amazon service directs me to the manufacture to replace missing or broken parts. When I called Moultrie, they were confused why Amazon was doing this. They are NOT affiliated with this store and only service order directly from them, NOT Amazon. When I contacted Amazon service, they offered a partial refund that would cover only half the cost of the missing parts. Unfortunately this thing is assembled and the box is not in good shape, so returning it was hardly an option. Fortunately for me, Moultrie is actually a reputable company and offered to send me the parts. Which is probably why Amazon takes advantage of them and includes them on the customer service page. So let my lesson learned be a warning to those purchasing from Amazon.

I bought this when I moved in three years ago to keep the deer entertained away from my bird feeders. It also works well to keep them in a huntable area of the property. I've changed the battery once in that time frame. I feed twice a day, so I think the battery life has been excellent. As noted, you will need to adjust the feeding schedule occasionally to compensate for daylight patterns. I did have some creature attempt to chew it's way in through the lid on top but it never got in and gave up. Overall I have nothing bad to say about this. I bought the Pro 2 model. I was initially skeptical about the durability of the plastic spinner but it has held up well. The only issue I get is that it occasionally gets clogged at the gravity feed nozzle. I quick jostle and it's back functional again. I think this has more to do with corn quality though than the actual feeder. Hope this helps you make your decision. I am one who investigates things ad nauseum before making a purchase and I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again.

I bought the basic version a few months ago. It was easy to set up and has held up well in wind and rainstorms.I've replaced the AA batteries twice. It seemed sometimes to not activate on the schedule but new batteries seem to solve that issue.Deer feed on a schedule related to sunrise/sunset but this timer is static...so you may want to adjust several times a year. I find it easiest to wait until the feeder is almost empty to lower it on its side and adjust the timings. Unfortunately, if you try to remove the timer/spreader in the vertical position, corn will pour out...it's a gravity feed.If you struggle lift 40 lb. bags of deer corn to fill the hopper, you can use a bucket to easily lift up managable amounts.I added the varmint guard II and the "feet" extensions and don't regret that!Living next to a golf course, deer are always present. I would rather watch them eat the corn rather than eating my hydrangeas. If you can't beat 'em...

Even with multiple new batteries motor doesn’t spin freely. Not sure where to go from here. Will likely try to contact the manufacturer.

For a cheap feeder it is well designed. Timed feeders can be problematic in the extreme cold and I'm sure this one will be too. Will probably buy or build a gravity feed tube for it.
