Great for directional feeding. Instead of having a 360, just aim it where you want it. I know it sounds stupid but I don’t want to shoot the feeder if a deer etc. is behind it!Strong motor and holds plenty of corn.

I've had this since winter of 2018 (as of this review, I've had it 4 1/2 years), so I've given this a good time test.Overall, I would consider the competition first. This is well built (the barrel) and basic design has the right intentions, but the details are missing and keeping this from being a good product. The problems can be solved if you spend some time and money, but then why should you have to?Issues (most of these immediate):1)..the lid catches rain and eventually rusts.2)..The access door to battery compartment isn't rain proof. Cracks all around, so water gets in there and causes a multitude of issues.3)..barrel was bent on shipping.4)..metal insert/filter was bent on shipping and doesn't fit well, so corn and corn dust settle in battery compartment and quickly rotten and is a pain to clean.4)..timer isn't reliable - can just stop working and you don't know it until your corn is all rotten from setting so long since moisture builds. There's no place to secure it inside the compartment - remember that corn will rot inside there along with water standing.5)..Lastly, no instructions. So, given all the above, yes, you can caulk here and there to fill in all the gaps. You can put the timer in a ziploc and on top of the battery, but water will still get in, so more caulking and creative sealing is needed around the compartment door. You'll need a new timer regularly since this one has various issues.I have to babysit mine to ensure the timer power is still on (it resets itself regularly), etc. I need to recaulk all the gaps again. It's a mess....almost not worth all the trouble.By the way, I have mine elevated on posts/legs. It extends the distance of the corn sent.

Finally, a feeder that may outfox coons, and squirrels too! In taking into consideration other reviews, I have attached a 30 gallon garbage can lid with bungee cords on the top to ward off water, caulked the funnel to keep corn dust and small particles from falling down into the battery compartment, and placed a 1/8" weather strip at the top of the compartment door to keep out our torrential S. GA rains. My only other fear, is that driven rain may go down the inclined corn shoot even with the little protector roof. I also added 2' poles in the legs to elevate it off of the ground as bending down to work the battery and timer is not that easy any more. It came extremely well packaged with good foam, but even so, two of the leg feet wee slightly bent, but that's not a big factor. I did have a slight problem inserting the oblong funnel inside and wish there was a video of that. So far it's working great and will update if there's a fail.

Overall I would say this is one of the nicer feeders in this price range. It is made in China, much like all the other major brands out there. The body of the feeder is thick, the paint job is decent although it does appear there were some scratches that were touched up at the factory and left a rough finish. The packaging it was shipped in was very good and protected it well. I have had other brand feeders show up dented due to rough handling and the feed drum being shipped in only plastic shipping wrap. The bracket that is used to mount the feeder to the tree is removable. This is a nice feature, you can use a ratchet strap to easily attach the bracket to a tree and then lift the feeder onto the bracket. The timer is a little confusing to program but once you get the hang of it it’s not bad at all. One note on the timer, One and Done’s website has the programming instructions. There are 6 possible run times you can program, to turn them on and off the directions say to use the HR button. On my timer I had to use the SET button to turn each run time on or off. The motor is strong and throws corn a good distance although you will get more closer to the feeder, which is to be expected. One of the major issues I found was the baffle that sits down inside the feeder which serves as the bottom of the hopper and keeps corn from falling into the motor/battery area. There are large gaps around the edges and there is no hardware to secure it down. I used a sheet metal screw to lock it down and caulking to seal the edges, not a big deal or difficult to do, but I would say it’s necessary to keep the motor area clean as possible. This baffle also serves as the top side of the shoot where the feed is shot out from. There were gaps there as well that would allow corn and corn dust to get into the motor/battery area. I used caulking to seal those gaps, this is a tight area and took some time. Batteries are the same as those used in solar electric fence energizers and wheelchairs, and share the same connectors. The motor/battery compartment door does have a gap, not terrible but it is there. I put my timer inside a ziplock bag to keep it dry. Some of the pictures show the compartment door with one latch, mine came with two, it seems they listened to the complaints of the door not being secured effectively. Overall it’s a good feeder with a little work and about $5 of materials. I will likely upgrade the timer to “The-Timer”, those seem to have good reviews.

Good heavy duty feeder with multiple ways to set up. Controller very easy to program and set to your needs. Lid holding water as some stated is a non issue, it may rust out in 20 years, if concerned repaint every 4 or so years. I got 6 50lbs bags of corn in, was full to top. Had in field for some time now, works great, no issue. have 2 rechargeable batteries and swap out every month or so but think they would last 6 months or more, I feed twice a day, high power for 10 seconds. Had to put a new battery in timer last week, but screen has battery life indicator so no sweat. This feeder is very well made and so far work flawlessly. Have trail cam picks of coons and cows all over it and no issues...can't find anything negative to say
