I'm very happy with this laptop cooler! The only other one I've owned was a very simple and cheap item so I can really see the difference between the two. This laptop cooler is made with thicker and more durable materials that give a nice weight to it. It's also quite powerful when it comes to airflow for cooling. The speed is easily adjustable from 800RPM to 3500RPM. The adjustment is made in 100RPM increments and the top speed puts out a good amount of air. Of course, that means the top speed is also quite loud but it's what I expected at that level. There are also several options for the RGB light settings that can be easily changed with a press of a button. I'm a big fan of just about anything with RGB lights so it's definitely a plus for me. When it comes to actually setting my laptop up, I have different options depending on the angle I need at the moment. There are pull out stands on the bottom and near the inner fan that can be adjusted according to desired height and the thickness of the laptop, respectively. These stands have a soft foam that helps to add grip to keeping the laptop in place and steady. In addition to that, there is a foam insert included for the groove around the fan output that also helps to hold the laptop still. The overall design of this cooler is aimed towards ease of use and it definitely shows.

If you compare laptops from 5-6 years ago to those being made today, you'll see the current ones are about 1/4 as thick as the older ones. Of course, they also have newer processors and graphic cards, both of which generate more heat. This extra heat, together with less inner space for cooling elements, means your new laptop is running much hotter. Hotter components are known to translate into less life and the need to buy a new laptop. With this formula, you are making the laptop manufacturers very happy. Laptop sales are still growing despite many people getting tablets to do their computing. All this verbiage boils down to one thing. If you use a laptop, you better get a cooling platform to keep the temperatures of the unit within acceptable levels. This cooling platform has one large fan, which is proven to move more cooling air than many others designed with multiple small fans. The platform is also unique in that it has a foam gasket to ensure that the fan's air is kept on the bottom of the laptop where it is needed. In our tests, this cooling platform lowered a MacBook Air 8° C within about five minutes of being turned on. It becomes necessary if you're using your laptop for continuous periods at home or in your office. A small investment to protect your expensive laptop.

I have an HP Omen gaming laptop, and as anyone with a gaming laptop can attest, gaming laptops get pretty darn warm when you game on them. This actually gets pretty uncomfortable on the lap, if you actually sit with your laptop...you know, on your lap. Wild, huh? So I like to sit with this on my lap, which not only helps cool the laptop, but also helps cool my LAP. It also helps put some distance between your lap and the EMF the laptop puts out, which is a nice bonus. One thing I do want to point out, is if your laptop is a year or 2 old (or older), and it seems to be running hotter than when it was new, it might need to be cleaned out - you'd be surprised how much dust can accumulate in a laptop. So don't be afraid to blow them out with a little compressed air. The laptop cooler should only augment the laptop's cooling system, not replace it.I love the touch-button controls and digital display, as well as the ability to turn the RGB lights off if I want (yay!), this is really one of the coolest laptop coolers that I've tried or used. It works well, but if the fan fails prematurely, I'll update this. 5 stars.
