Used on the big buddy, extended the wire a bit. Works for now. We'll see how it is next year.

This fit our Dewalt brand small propane heater perfectly. It's the same size as a little buddy. The heater would not keep a pilot light. After switching the parts out it works perfectly. It was a little difficult to take apart. It took my husband a few hours but that's mainly because the heater itself was hard to disassemble. The part however was a perfect match.

I have had my Buddy heater for several years. Use it all the time camping and when working in the garage when it's cold out. Last year I could not keep it working. It would light then after a time would shut itself off! I took it apart and cleaned all of the lines. No help. Purchased this pilot assembly and voilà!!! It works like a champ. Easy to install.

*Make sure you order according to model # buddy pilot cord too short, Big Buddy cord is longerTakes 78422/F278527 Replaced pilot assembly on big buddy only thing to do remove screw below handle above control knob inside center inside molded round stub after you remove rear black cover 4 screws and you'll see one clip inside side cover after removing control knob lift clip out of slot, needle nose pliers or long skinny screwdriver so side cover can be removed, replace pilot and other cord as well, lay out screws so you don't get mixed or take pics. Fittings are metric 11mm 12 mm 14mm. Screw holding pilot assembly was real tight use a good multi-bit screw driver with new Phillips bit to remove with good fit press hard while removing screws. Pilot works great nowtake your time

looked exactly like the one i replaced it with. thermocouple started getting weak, pilot was taking a very long time to stay lit and was going out randomly. took about 10 mins to replace. wrenches and a screw driver was all the tools needed to replace.

Product arrived in a timely fashion and worked great after install. Could have used better installation instructions or web links to same for specific models of the heater. Turns out I had to nearly completely disassemble the heater to get it installed. Trickiest part was hooking up the gas connection in the tight confines of the heater box. No issue with the supplier regarding the parts, it’s just that the design of the buddy heater makes it a little complex to change.

As others have noted, if you don't normally make your own repairs, don't try this one. While only basic tools are needed, you need to know how to use them and how to properly tighten connections (two wrenches). That being said, it's a breeze to install. Pop off the four screws that hold the back on (no, you don't need to tear the entire exterior apart like some dopes on Youtube do), loosen the fuel connections on both the pilot and the burner assembly, remove the four screw holding the burner assembly and also the thermocouple connection to the fuel valve. Unscrew the pilot mount and replace in the reverse order. The igniter is a pull-off from the burner connection so remember to do that. It took about 20 minutes to remove and replace and have the heater up and running. I purchased two of these at once so I have one on hand as a spare. One thing to note is that sometimes, a simple cleaning with a cotton tip and alcohol can cure a non-functioning heater. You may want to try that first before replacing the entire assembly. Look for the vid by Mr. Heater on YT.

This solved my problem, really. It did. With caveats:1: It doesn't come with instructions. Of really any kind. It might have been nice to know beforehand exactly how to disassemble my Mr Heater Buddy. There are, it turns out, some tricks to it. The Mr. Heater website refuses to give you any information without a serial number, but, my Mr. Heater Buddy has no serial number. Yeah really. I would have really appreciated the ability to just select the diagram that looks like my product.2: Initially, it wouldn't work at all, but it turned out that this was because the lead it comes with to go from the safety device to the gas valve was missing the insulator ring that keeps the conductor insulated from the body of the valve. When i switched back to the original lead, i was in business.
