This is the best sounding strat pickguard I have and I have five strats...Let that sink in. THIS is the only one that can do the neck throaty howl thing I want from a strat neck and still has a really great, clear but highish output bridge pickup that does riffs with string midrange bc of the staggered poles.I thought I liked basic alnico 5s but this whole package, the wiring, the screws, everything feels premium and sounds incredible. To be clear I'm playing through a fender tube amp, your results will vary but fender amps are the standard for strat sounds outside of Europe...and ...yeah. INCREDIBLE sounds. Most pickguard are a slight clarity upgrade sonically...these are MUCH better than anything up to a USA standard pickup with signatures for whatever artists. They're clear, the pots are quality the switch ISNT a circuit board cheapo switch.....just chefs kiss on. Every detail.

Definitely alnico pickups. They shine sing and growl as they should. I especially love the sound of my slide guitar songs with this humbucker. I played around with some metal riffs and like them much better with these pickups. Great well rounded sound. Good value.

Before ordering this loaded pickguard, it's advisable to check the body you'll be using. Obviously, it needs to accommodate the bridge humbucker- standard Strat routing won't cut it. Also, your control cavity needs to be at least 1 3/8" deep because of the massive old-style five-way switch. A typical import body is thinner than standard and may not have a deep enough control cavity. Forewarned is forearmed. That said, this is another nice guitar part from Musiclily. It features quality pickups and components, clean wiring and full shielding. (Most loaded guards have shielding only for the control cavity.) The wire used is not of the cloth push-back type, but it's perfectly fine, and ample lengths are provided for the output jack and ground connection. The 250K pots turn with some resistance, as compared with some others that are a bit too loose. The switch is of the very substantial mil-spec type instead of the cheaper and more common closed circuit type. The Alnico V pickups are hotter than vintage ones, but not as hot as others I've used. This guard comes in different colors. Mine is the "blackout" model, which has always been my preference. Included is a package of chrome screws, though black ones would be better for this particular guard. Also, there's an info sheet with wiring diagram and a Musiclily pick. The guard is decently packed in a dedicated box with foam inserts and should arrive in perfect condition. At its current price, the Musiclily Pro-SE is a great value, and should please those who wish to upgrade an existing guitar or assemble one from parts. I've used a number of Musiclily parts in the past and can certainly recommend them.

This pre-wired strat pickguard with the pearlescent white tortoise shell looks fabulous. However, the magnet pole pieces in the coils are all different heights. These are not the type that are designed to be adjustable, so there is no way to adjust them. I know that Fender used to do this on purpose back when they used a 7.5 inch fingerboard radius, but it doesn’t make as much sense now for the flatter modern fingerboards. Still, if you want something very true to the original, then this is the product for you.You will need to solder the pickup jack, but everything else is pre-wired and appears to be soldered very well. Once I get this installed I’ll add some pictures, but for now I think this will be great. Presumptive 5 stars for now, but if I have any difficulty installing, I’ll update this review.

This pickguard comes with a decent set of pickups and full-sized pots. I was worried at first because there was a mechanical 5-way pickup selector and historically those didn't fit into the imported S-style guitar that I was modifying due to the shallower depth, but this one is actually flat enough to fit due to a more elliptical shape. The fit and finish on everything is very nice. I had to transfer the components to another pickguard because the neck pocket didn't line up with the new pickguard, but otherwise the electronics worked fine. This fitment shouldn't be an issue if you are working with a body with normal strat measurements or if you are starting a build from scratch. The pickups sound great and have the signature chimey AlNiCo single coil tone, and the humbucker is nice and fat. I had to solder an extra wire to ground the electronics to the shielding tape in the cavity. They left plenty of wiring to run to the output jack and trem claw, though the humbucker has wire that is trimmed exactly to length so if you want to use it in a different guitar you'll have to splice extra wire on there.

This is a very well put together pickguard assembly. Full sized pots, an orange drop cap, neat solder joints, shielded pickguard, and a super switch. I don't have any previous experience with super switches but I love the smooth feel of it when toggling. The alnico pickups are a little hotter than the ceramic pickups of late 90's MIM Strats for those considering upgrading, and I do consider this an upgrade. Resistance is close to what is stated by the seller. The small differences I measured could be attributed to room temperature. It also comes with at least two dozen screws. Extra screws always come in handy. This SSH pickguard will be replacing a Musiclily SSS configuration in one of my recent builds. It worked well for me before and I don't expect this one to disappoint.

I've used Musiclily guitar parts in the past and they have performed extremely well for the price. I picked this one up for a jet black fakocaster that I am building. Love the all black look. I did a relic build with one of these loaded pickguards and it worked out great! Sounds awesome. I can't wait to get some warm weather to spray up the Black Beauty and drop this one in. The body blank is not drilled so no worries about holes lining up. My previous build was pre-drilled and the ML pickguard lined up with the holes. For home builds on a budget - awesome.

This arrived extremely well packaged in foam padding to keep all the electronics protected. This pickguard is exactly what I was looking for. the guard itself is a nice four ply tortoise shell. The pickups are not the typical ceramics. You can see from the pole pieces they are Alnicos. And the potentiometers are full sized, not the typical dime sized. Almost everything about this loaded pickguard says quality. The only things lacking are a push/pull for a coil split of the humbucker and cloth wiring. But I can certainly live with those small niggles. I am currently building a Strat style short scale guitar and this loaded pickguard is going into it. And for around sixty-five dollars this is a good value as well.
