So it works, it heats and melts the glue for the right time, but is functionally really disappointing. Imagine trying to use a heat iron to melt glue for a book, it’s like 1-2 steps less annoying than that. It just isn’t great mechanically. Feels like the cheapest possible solution, which I guess if that’s what you’re going for it works, but I’d personally rather get a nicer one that is a bit more commercial usage in quality.

I've had experiences with saddle stitching and coil binding, and wanted to give thermal binding a try—this seemed like an affordable machine to help me. Electronically speaking, the unit works fine in heating as it should for allotted times, controllable by user. Mechanically speaking, this is disappointing.Pros: Straightforward use supported by directions. The unit is simple enough: pull back the open slot enough so that you can slip in your loose pages, cover and glue strip, and let it do its thing. The built-in timer is nice too.Cons: The springs providing tension on the door you open are junk. Upon first pulling back the door/slot, the springs inside the unit immediately bent open and broke free. Before I could even bind anything, I had to open the machine, re-bend the springs and reattach them to provide vital tension for the unit's door. Immediately after I closed the unit, one of the springs bent open and dislodged—again. In short, it's impossible to give this a good rating since a core aspect of its functionality is stymied by either inferior engineering choices, inferior hardware choices, or an even more frustrating combination of both. Keep shopping around.

Works well for book binding. Time and sizes are adjustable. It's pretty simple and straightforward to use. Pretty noisy which is kind of annoying. I would recommend clamping your pages together since the cooling slot doesn't adjust to hold them tight while the glue dries.

This binder is a great solution, allowing you to bind using glue strips and covers (purchased separately). You'll need a cover (I used a file folder) and glue strips (mesh glue strips work well). The machine stays fairly cool, which I appreciate; the sides get warm but not too hot to touch. The cord is also a nice length. Overall, it's a convenient and efficient way to keep your digital files organized.

I like being able to buy digital files, but then I have a bunch of loose papers. This binder lets you bind using glue strips and covers (bought separately). You need to have a cover (I used a file folder), and glue strips (mesh glue strips work well). The machine stays fairly cool which I appreciate. The sides get warm, but not too hot to touch. The cord is a nice length too.The issues: The select button doesn't work. My machine doesn't change off the 60-second, so it's not adjustable. I was able to leave the book in for the 120 sec, so it wasn't a huge deal, just inconvenient. The cooling part does not have automatic clamping like the description states. It does hold the cooling books, but they will tip over. The machine beeps a lot, every minute or so. I wasn't sure if it was ready because it beeped but the run light didn't turn green. After another minute, it beeped again and the light turned green. The light doesn't stay green, so if you aren't watching it, you may not notice it turn green. I thought it was connected to the handle, or putting papers in, but when I didn't open it to let my papers go for 2 minutes, the light was on and off quickly without me touching the machine. While it's annoying that the control doesn't work correctly, I can still bind books. It doesn't affect it too much. The directions say it will sleep in 30 minutes in one spot and 3 minutes in another. It didn't sleep in 3 minutes, so maybe 30 is correct.
