Needed a phono preamp as my receiver didn't have a phono input, wanted to try a cheap one before getting in too deep. This thing made a huge difference, works so well that I haven't felt the need to upgrade yet......yet.....

Works great. I needed it to amplify my turntable enough to use on my portable speaker. My speaker has a plug in option so I ran the turntable to the amplifier and then to the speaker. Now I can listen to all my vinyl! Good sound not distorted at all.

I was looking for an affordable "upgrade" to my cheap Pyle phono preamp that has no dedicated ground screw (hence I had to hook my ground wire to one of the unit's screws). It had an annoying low "buzz" that I couldn't get rid of, even by replacing RCA cables with expensive (but great quality) BJC ones. I was hoping this new preamp might solve the issue, but the buzz it emits is even LOUDER than my current Pyle preamp, despite being properly grounded to my turntable. It's a shame because the unit itself is very sleek and attractively built. I guess I'm about to splurge for the Pro-Ject one that seems to be the only unit that totally eliminates interference/noise.

Purchased this unit as a temporary cheap solution to build perspective between the ulra budget, budget, mid range and high end. At $23 nobody should be expecting anything but the device to amplify a TT. It does that and does it well enough to not offend anyone. Nothing glaringly bad about it. However, in the world of phono-preamps spending $60-120 really gives you products that offer more.
