About this item

  • Eight mono ¼” inputs with individual volume control and two ¼” outputs with Master Volume Controls.
  • Two modes of operation: In stereo mode, 4 inputs (A1 through A4) are routed to output A, while the other 4 inputs (B1 through B4) are routed to output B. In mono mode, all 8 inputs are summed to both outputs, still with separate master volume control

  • Up to 25dB of gain and professional audio quality: S/N ratio of 95dB and frequency response from 20Hz to 30kHz. Peak LEDs facilitate proper gain adjustment
  • 9VDC powered with either 9V alkaline battery or optional PAD-1 AC/DC external adapter

Dozens of applications for this extremely useful mixer at a very affordable price

The Nady MM-242 allows you to easily combine mono or stereo signals together and adjust their relative volumes. Ideal for DJ equipment, synths and guitar rigs, studio, stage, the MM-242 is a great tool to have around everywhere. Mono/stereo mode selector switch determines whether all 8 inputs are mixed to both 1/4" outputs or are preserved as stereo signals, so you have greater flexibility and mixing options. Connect the ¼” outputs of this little workhorse directly to your PA or recording device for ultra-clean audio. Eliminate the need for bulkier, more expensive mixers, and take the MM-242 anywhere with you with its 9VDC operation using either a 9V alkaline battery or the optional PAD-1 AC/DC external adapter.

This 4 channel stereo line mixer is rugged and nicely functional and, for the price, a very good choice. While the 9 V battery works fine, it is easy to forget to turn off the unit when not in use. I therefore prefer the charger and this works fine as expected.I also found tech support to be friendly and responsive.

We are a small acoustic act who plays street corners and beer gardens. We are completely wireless and cordless, and were looking for a way to add more instruments to the second channel on our Bose s1 pro, without needing an ac adapter, and this works perfectly. By no means is this a studio quality mixer, there are no XLR inputs for vocals or balance signals, but it works perfectly for what it is intended for. If you are a street busker, or small scale act, in need of a portable way to add multiple instruments to your single instrument input amplifier, this would work perfectly. Roland Street Cube owners, S1 Pro owners, mugig 25 owners, and other battery powered 2 channel amp owners, would definitely benefit from adding this inexpensive mixer to your system. Have used it with both hard line cable inputs and wireless systems, with minimal, almost non-existent, line noise.

I think this is a solid unit. It's sitting right on top of a couple of my tower PCs under the desk (mixing multiple PCs into one analog computer speaker amplified system). The 9V battery held up (accidentally left on) with some light actual use for a few days, so that's a good option. And though there can be some buzz and interference (hey it's analog sitting atop an EFI generating PC with spinning fans and circuitry and Wifi, etc.), so far I've found the interference / noise to be a fault of the cabling I'm using and not the unit itself. On the negative side, it appears there may be a conflict with the external power supply recommended for this system, at least on the amazon links. I bought the Planet Waves 9V adapter, which on the plus side was exactly 9V and center negative as expected, but the tip didn't fit properly. I had to splice a tip from another adapter onto it for it to fit properly (works great now). Might want to get an adapter with multiple tips and reversible polarity just to be sure, or be willing to whip out the multitestor and wire cutters / soldering iron if you also have conflicts getting this tip to fit. The manual (and Amazon listing) says the PAD-1 adapter is the one you want - but I see negative feedback on that item also stating it didn't work / fit properly. ? if there's been a manufacturing change, etc. Anyway, buyer beware on that aspect (9V battery works fine til you work that out) but in terms of performance and solid build - it's as sturdy as it looks in the pics and the knobs are quality and have the right amount of adjustment resistance to hold their place properly, etc. I don't have a way to know what tip I'm using that's working - but the center pole of this unit's AC adapter port is a little larger diameter than most external PSU'sFinal comment - it did have notable distortion (and volume loss) as the 9V battery started to die -- for what it's worth, that's not the device's fault since it's not a solid state sort / microchip regulated system, but might be a tip not to go crazy troubleshooting the wiring of your entire performance Gig before simply checking the battery.

Works well for the price. Construction seems fine. Honestly haven't played around with it enough to give proper feedback, but till now I'm happy enough.

I've only had the Nady mixer for a few days but so far it exceeds expectations. I play music with a group of friends. We're all amateurs but play publicly on occasion. We mix four mics, two electric guitars and a keyboard into one amp. The Nady works perfectly for that. We use it in mono mode so we have 8 inputs, and it's just what we need.It seems solidly built -- sturdy, made of metal, a little heavier than I expected for its size, with smooth-moving knobs. I haven't had it long but by the feel expect it to last. (I'll update my review if not.)Prior to getting the Nady we used an old mini-mixer but it didn't have volume adjustments for each input, which is why I bought the Nady. That feature is very handy, and it lets us compensate for the varying input levels from mics, guitars, and keyboard -- it was a big improvement. I also like that it can be battery-powered so we don't need another cord or outlet. And it has an "on" light -- our old mini-mixer didn't so it was easy to forget to turn it off. Some reviewers, especially at some music websites, complained about the Nady's noise level under AC power. I can't address that as we only use it on battery, but in that mode noise is not a problem at all. We get more white noise from our amp; the Nady didn't add any that we could notice.Prior to purchase I researched at a lot of small mixers online. Many seemed to be higher quality and at higher cost, but either they didn't have as many inputs, or they didn't have individual volume controls, and/or they required AC power. That's why I decided on the Nady. I'm glad I did. So far it's everything we wanted at a good price. I'm very pleased with the purchase.UPDATE: 8/12/12I've been using the mixer for two months and am very satisfied with it. I use it exclusively in mono mode because we generally feed six inputs to it (mostly microphones) and it works great. I still like the individual volume controls.I've had no problem with added noise. Some of my input gains are set to maximum, and the output volume is usually between 6 - 8 (out of 10), and there's no appreciable noise. As I said previously we power it only by battery so results could differ with a power adapter.Speaking of battery, the first 9v I put in lasted two months, using it about five hours once a week. Figure 40 hours or so. That's with 4 - 6 inputs and gains/volume on the high side. One minor issue: the "on" light stayed lit even after the battery was too weak to function properly. We were performing for a small group and suddenly our mics lost almost all volume. The Nady power light looked normal so at first I thought it was a loose cable. After eliminating other issues I replaced the battery everything worked fine.I'm careful with equipment so it's been handled gently, but it feels sturdy and expect it to last a long time.
