This is a solid brass Four Fold Place Of 3 Draw leather sheathed field telescope in antique finish. It was also called the 'Tourist' and is based on the old War Office Signalling model. With a large objective lens of 35mm visible diameter, giving a magnification of 20x it is ideal for stalking or spotting and produces a sharp, clear image. The telescope also disassembles easily for access to the internal lenses, enabling them to be cleaned in the field.

This arrived and I opened it immediately and tried it out. I was quickly taken back by the moldy smell. I definitely could not give this as a gift. Gross.I got busy and forgot about it until I just started going through my Christmas present stash. I see it's just past the return window so I guess I'm stuck with a useless toy but I thought I'd warn others.

Bought for my son for christmas, I thought it was faulty , like some other reviewers as I couldn't focus on anything. However, looking at the moon and at an aeroplane I was able to slide the first two sections and get a lovely clear image. Its still taking a bit of practice for my son and myself to master. Very happy with it.

I bought this for my kids to use in a pirate-themed treasure hunt, and was very pleased by what I received. It is sturdy, antique looking, and functional as a spyglass. Others who reviewed this that said it doesn't work must not have understood how to use it. You must manually adjust each sliding section to focus on an object at a distance--it is a real brass spyglass, and works exactly like it should.

The first scope I received did not work right. I contacted seller who responded quickly. After trying seller's tips and scope was still faulty, they immediately sent a replacement. The second scope works perfectly! This is a very nice scope with great clarity and distance. Adjustment is easy by moving sight end to focus. I am looking forward to walks and camping and sharing with my many grandkids! I am impressed with this company's integrity and highly recommend them!! I will likely buy from them again!!

This telescope looks amazing, and it was purchased for that look (used for Pirates of Penzance) but it just doesn't actually work. Looking through it just shows blurry no matter where it is focused. Oddly, if you look through it reversed, you can tell the lenses work because the "small view" is clear. Very strange.Anyway - for costume purposes this telescope is a great value. The look, the case - all of it. Fantastic. Just don't expect to see anything through it.

I was hesitant to buy this based off lack of reviews, but I went for it and I'm very please. It's nice and heavy, doesn't feel cheap. The optics actually work good and focusing is as easy as adjusting the length of the eye tube. Based off the smell it appears to be all genuine leather, which surprised me. The larger end cap fits loose and the strap is indeed very short and thin, but neither of those are really problems. Overall very happy so far.
