I’ve used this on several landscape shoots, and it has worked really well for my needs. The gradient is perfect for getting both the sky and landscape properly exposed in a lot of situations. And it just adds a nice amount of vibrancy and headroom for editing later. With this filter it’s like you have sunglasses on for looking at the sky, but not for the ground. So instead of a blown out sky, you can maintain a nice blue against the clouds.

The lens filter from the Neewar Store came safely packaged in its branded box. The overall quality and build of the lens filter seem pretty good. The glass used is of high quality, scratch-resistant, and tough as well. The lens filter was easy to install and works as advertised. Furthermore, the lens is perfect for landscape photography. It captures colors effectively and reduces light and reflection too. I am satisfied

Seems very well made and was easy to use, both installation and spinning on camera. I didn't notice any unanticipated effects. It did make autofocus a bit tough in some scenarios, but I think that's to be expected. (Nikon D750). I'm looking forward to playing around with it more in some more interesting locations.After some shots outside, the limitation of the circular form factor where the gradation is always the exact same place (but rotated) was clear to me. That said, taking pictures is about finding out how to work within limitations to make something great. Just beware of this set of constraints when buying this form factor.This will stay in my bag and will be something I definitely use more in some of my landscape shots.

The filter is well made. The fit and finish are top notch. The coatings look good. The threads are clean and the rotation is smooth. As the description states, a neutral density filter will help to reduce contrast between brighter and darker areas. It will help to reduce glare and give your images better balance and a more even exposure. It's especially useful for landscape photography where the transition between sky and ground are not well defined. The filter can help getting even exposure in tricky light conditions. Of course, the skill of the photographer is more important than any piece of equipment. But I'm not that skilled, so I'll take whatever help I can get. For me, a ND filter is an essential piece of equipment. This NEEWER filter is a quality option to choose. I'm very pleased with it.

This filter fits nicely on my Sony RXiv10. It is easy to put on and take off. It turns smoothly and I find it easy to stop at each setting. I like the effects that I can get with this filter and look forward to trying it on landscapes. I was able to get a photo of the moon, during the day. This is a handheld photo, and I am an amateur, but love how it came out with a little editing. I do wish they would add basic manual on how to use filters more effectively, for beginners. Another great filter by Neewer.

Review of NEEWER 72mm HD Soft GND8 Lens Filter, 3 Stop (0.9) Soft Graduated ND Filter with 30 Layer Nano Coated/Water Repellent/Scratch Resistant/Anti Reflectivity for Balanced Light ProportionThis filter allows the user to locate the darkest part of the glass where it will reduce glare. The filter is tow sliding rings, one threads into the camera and the other twists to adjust the filter.My only problem occurred because I was attempting to catch a rainbow both with and without the filter installed. I couldn’t get the filter off because the outer ring moves and doesn’t have a total stop, so twisting it to take off the filter it just spins. If you carefully hold the inner ring which is very narrow and has tiny ridges to offer some grip, you can eventually get both to turn and take it off, but it seems hard to do it in a hurry. If I plan to use it for an extended time, this would not be an issue. Just be aware not to tighten it down too much when putting it on.The filter optics are clear and very well made. The metal work is well machined and the adjustment feature works great. Nice filter.

This is a quality built ultra slim, lightweight graduated neutral density filter. The filter threads allow for smooth quick mount and dismount and the smooth rotation of the filter allows you to quickly adjust the filter orientation. I am an amateur photographer whose main passion is landscape photography. This is my first ND filter and I look forward to using it this summer in the great Wyoming outdoors. In the past I have relied mostly on HDR techniques to deal with high dynamic range scenes. The graduated ND8 filter should prove very useful for photos with a light sky and dark forested foreground which is very common in Wyoming photography. I also want to use a ND filter for waterfall and moving water shots but I think it will be much more difficult to use the graduated filter for that purpose rather than a solid ND filter.

Looking at the filter it has a strong line at the transition, but it produces a very nice graduation from light to dark that's hard to pick out in a picture unless you're looking for it.It has a 2 ring design so it can be threaded on, and then spun while holding the threads in place. That's great because I've seen filters where the threading itself is the rotation mechanism.It doesn't add any hues or color shifts.The threads are all cut well and it slides on cleanly and securely.Overall a great filter.Highly recommended.

Arguably the most useful graduated ND filter for balancing the land (or lake/water) and the sky in landscape photography is a 3 stop so, on paper, this Neewer graduated ND filter should be perfect.This filter has a soft transition which makes it perfect for all those situations where there is stuff above the horizon. So when there are trees/forests, mountain ranges, foliage etc. in the landscape a soft transition is a go to filter. This filter can also be used for landscapes (and also seascapes) where there nothing above the horizon but it can look weird. In these situations a hard transition normally works best.The build quality of this filter is superb, which I have come to expect from Neewer branded photography products. The multi-coated glass is tough, scratch resistant and water repellent. The outer ring has a nice smooth action and is stiff enough to stay in situ for the shot but loose enough to be easily moved in to position.The rim is well machined and screws into the end of my lenses nice and snug but can also be removed easily, which is very important. There is nothing more frustrating than stuck filters when out on location. Fortunately, this doesn’t happen with this filter.Photographs captured with this graduated ND filter show no signs of vignetting using my 10mm - 24mm (15mm – 35mm full frame equivalent) lens at any focal length. I cannot comment on whether vignetting would happen at the ultra-wide focal lengths as these do not fit in with my style of photography.Photographs captured using this graduated ND filter show no signs of colour casts and no reduction in sharpness or contrast, even when pixel peeping.The Neewer graduated ND filter is priced mid-market but punches above its weight and works better than many other top brand, and far more expensive, graduated ND filters I have tried in the past.
