Small and easy to use and gives you the versatility to connect to a NEMA 6-50 (dryer connection) to a NEMA 14-50 for your car charger. Tesla vehicles come with different adapters, but other brands will not necessarily supply those. We have a Jeep Grand Cherokee electric hybrid and that vehicle only came with the Level 1 charger for 120V, which is not the fastest means of charging. But the 120V plug is fairly well established in home use. A Level 2 charger, on the other hand, will often use a NEMA 14-50P (Plug) that you may need to connect to a dryer receptacle at a friend’s or family’s house if you’re more in a hurry so this adapter comes in handy in those cases. One thing that I liked was the handle on the NEMA 14-50R, which is great because it gives you a little more purchase on the connection when pulling them apart, but that handle is not available on the NEMA 5-50P side, which is unfortunate as it would make it both easier and safer to remove from the wall. Safe since you wouldn’t have to grasp each side of the plug adjacent to the hot prongs on the plug. But that is just a general comment. It is a good adapter nevertheless.

I'm first going to say, I do NOT recommend anything below whatsoever... I am ONLY sharing my experience. I am relatively newer to the RV world and I am by no means an electrician, but I did quite a bit of homework on this stuff so I felt fairly comfortable with it.... It's not my first choice to use this, I always just use my adapter to a standard extension cord, but I wanted to be able to power up certain things, specifically at least 1 of my a/c's, because it's hot as blazes where I live in Florida and if we're back at home and doing work in the camper or unpacking or whatever it gets brutally hot in the camper. I do not have a 50amp hookup at my house, which is something I would love to have but we rent here and I'm also not crazy about spending $500-600 for something I'm rarely going to use here... so I looked into this adapter. I may have just had dumb luck with this, but I also played it very carefully... I have a dryer outlet in our laundry room right in my garage and the way we back our RV up, I can run a cable to the laundry room pretty easily... from my understanding, you cannot do this with a three-prong dryer outlet AT ALL, so do NOT try that. And if you have a 4 prong dryer outlet, you have to make sure that all 4 prongs are wired properly. On top of that, you don't want to use but so much power with your RV too or else you run the risk of burning everything up... That said, we ran into a situation where our house got struck by lightning and we were in a serious bind with our AC being fried, so tried using this adapter and running at any given time only one of our two ac's in our RV so that we could stay in it until our house's AC was fixed. Well, I used this adapter at my dryer outlet, ran it straight to the RV on 50amp cables, and ONLY used 1 AC in either the living area or the bedroom depending on where we were during the day/night, and I also used 50amp surge protector in between, and we ended up actually having to stay in our camper for 4 days in the middle of the hottest summer ever, literally... We had no issues whatsoever. We typically ran just 1 AC and basically nothing else except lights and a few plugs here and there for charging some electronics, we also powered our TV here and there, and did that for the entire 4 days. Nothing burned, nothing surged, no wires were even remotely warm at all. nothing tripped... Now... I only had certain breakers flipped on in my RV to just make sure we were limiting our power to just basically light and cool air, so it was limited power usage... Anyway, you do what you want, but I've seen this argument online all over the place and I just wanted to share my experience... Again, I have a 4 prong 30amp dryer outlet, a 50amp RV, and this adapter worked with limited power.... What you do is on you, but I don't mind having this setup for when I need it.

This adapter works great. I have a level 1/2 EV charger with a NEMA 6-20 plug. I use the level 1 5-15 plug at 10 amps. I usually use my level 2 charger plugged into my 10-30 outlet at 24 amps. This is perfect for me as I charge overnight. I want my battery to last, so I try to limit charging at higher amps.My charger plugs into this adapter and lets me charge at 16 amps. Perfect! The adapter works great without heating up.The adapter is well made with what appears to be 10 ga wiring. Heavy duty, built to last and is safe to use. It is plug and play, so it is a snap to use with a nice tight fit. Highly recommended.

The M PLUS NEMA 6-50P to 14-50R Adapter is a nice thick cord that has a durable coating on both the wiring and the plugs. The male plug has a nice handle grip to securely pull the male from the female plug. The cord did the job and allowed 40 amps to flow to my 2024 Kia Niro EV through the extension cord I have setup linked to my Seguma 40 amp level 2 charger.
