Much firmer than I anticipated. Does not compress easily. I was expecting something closer to very dense weatherproofing foam. This is closer to tire rubber. It'll work really well where it needs to withstand weight or pressure, but not where it needs to mold to something. It's still flexible (more so than tire rubber), so it'll mold a little, but don't expect an airtight seal on an irregular shape. (Flat surfaces should work fine for air/water tightness). Cuts easily with a good pair of scissors or sharp blade, but does not tear. Good for a wide variety of applications.The one thing I didn't like is the smell. 4 months out and it still smells like tire rubber. Not overpowering - it's not going to make a room unbearable, but if you're using it somewhere you'll get near it, I don't know that the smell is going to go away.

I got this rubber strip to replace the way wipers on my metal lathe. It worked perfectly. The material is a medium hardness rubber, similar to tire rubber. The strip is easy to bend by hand but it doesn't compress very easily. This was ideal for my purposes since I was clamping it between 2 pieces of metal. I found the dimensions to be accurate (1.022" x 0.124"). I had no trouble cutting the strips with a razor blade and a sharp drill bit made tidy holes where needed. The only negative is the somewhat strong smell of rubber, which I anticipate will mellow out over time. Overall a good quality product.
