Well the battery on my boat charges from the alternator since I replaced the old regulator with this one, so it seems to be doing a great job. Now I don't have to rely on the trickle charger for much except to maintain the charge.

I did a stupid thing and connected my boats battery in reverse and blew the regulator so that my battery wouldn’t charge. This new regulator is charging the battery as it should. Be careful when ordering a new regulator there are a lot of different ones that look the same, especially the number of wires even if you get the correct number of wires in some cases the battery will charge but your tachometer won’t work.
