The New Wave Enviro 10-stage Premium Water Filter System produces a continuous supply of fresh, crisp, wonderful-tasting water right from your tap, removing major contaminants to below EPA minimum levels. The deceptively simple device quickly attaches to your faucet, and conversion kits are available to mount under your sink. An easily replaced filter produces approximately 1,500 gallons of water before it needs replacing -- enough to last a family of four for around a year.

The filter removes or greatly reduces chlorine, carcinogenic organic and chlorine compounds called trihalomethanes (THM), bad odors such as hydrogen sulfide, pesticides, herbicides, PCBs, toxic heavy metals like lead, cadmium, organic arsenic, asbestos, micro-organisms such as cryptosporidium and giardia, and dozens of other organic contaminants. Once your water has been filtered, inert and desirable minerals like magnesium, potassium, chlorides, and fluoride are left behind.

We are 70% Water (& our pets too)! As adults, we need 64+oz a day of water (yes, you are likely chronically dehydrated!) to clean out our waste & have our body/mind, system work properly! This ought to be the #1 thing you use/consume for your health (& drinkable tasting water), for you, loved ones, pets & plants. I've been using this incredibly effective & affordable system for decades. As an avid medical science researcher, I'm very well informed & up to date on water filtration systems, water health hazards & related health issues. I absolutely recommend the New Wave Enviro water filter to everyone - clients, colleagues, friends etc. In comparision even the worlds top systems ($5k Kagen -Japan only filters chlorine, $2k reverse osmosis - Europe & N America just removes minerals, whole house systems - N America, different brands remove chlorine &/or minerals), never mind lesser filters, or worst store filtered water bottles & dispensers which simply use 2 screens, despite other claims), are near-ineffective contraptions compared to this! The Enviro 10 stage water quickly & efficiently filter filters out harmful virus, bacteria, fungus, protozoa & parasites, heavy metals, chlorine (poisonous to humans, pets & plants), organic compounds, floride & other chemicals, which are now in All land, sea & ocean water bodies (yes, even in the arctic & antarctic). The unit is fast & easy to install, small enough to stand by the faucet on a sink corner & replaceable filters are available at low cost.

This is an excellent counter top water filter system. I have been using it for about a week. I like the hook up and water tastes good. My only negative comment is the FedEx delivery. Lazy FedEx drivers leave your parcel just anywhere. Mine was left in the front lobby of a 151 unit apt. building. Sometimes a person is wise to opt out of free delivery. Requiring a signature for deliveries on items a bit more expensive is definitely the only way to go.

We are on town water which I often find tastes like chlorine, leaving a bad taste in your mouth. This filter is a breeze to hook up it simply attaches to your faucet and turn it on, it has a little pin when it's pushed in you get tap water and pushed out your filter comes on! The first time I turned it on after set up it did come out black however after a few seconds the water was running clear! It makes such a difference in the taste of our water, you wouldn't even believe it is from the sameTap! The filter lasts approx 1 year. It does not encourage you to use hot water with the filter engaged as it can wear your filter out much faster. The filter sits on your counter with a small hose running to the faucet, the hose is long enough to allow you to tuck the filter back out of your way. If you want crystal clear great tasting water this is the filter for you!!

I got this unit over a year ago. After scouring the internet for a cheap and effective water filter, I landed on this one. To all of the reviews complaining about how this filter does not lower the parts per million all that much, that is because the filter is designed to leave useful substances and minerals in the water; which is clearly listed in the description. My tap water smells and tastes like pool water. It literally makes one gag. This filter completely eliminates the chlorine smell and taste, leading me to believe it works very well. The water also tastes great. Instant fresh water! Keep in mind that when you buy a unit, you're mostly paying for the filter itself, however, they last a very long time. TIP- make sure the blue rubber seal at the base of the filter is aligned properly with the housing for a proper seal, or it will leak.

Excellent product. We originally had a reverse osmosis system installed and the taste was great but it was wasting too much water and the water bill was way much too high, so we had to find an alternative. Tried a Brita filtered container but the water didnt taste much better than straight out of the tap until refrigerated. Found this 10 stage filter system and have been using it for about 2 weeks. The water now tastes as clean as the reverse osmosis system we had, the unit was easy to install in about 5 minutes. Very happy with this, hopefully the filters last as long as they say but even if it's only 6 months that will be double or triple the life of a Brita at the same cost.

I'm very pleased overall with this water filter, now that I've been using it for a few months, and I think it was a good purchase. I rent an apartment and it has a "designer" faucet that would not accommodate the inexpensive faucet-mounted filters I had always had before, which turned out to be a blessing in disguise since it forced me to look for something better. An under-the-counter unit was not an option because there was nowhere to put the spigot (I use the sprayer quite a bit so I wasn't going to remove that) and I did not want the kind of countertop or refrigerator filter container that I had to keep refilling with water because that seemed like a hassle I didn't need. This was ridiculously easy to install once I went to a local hardware store and picked up a longer threaded adapter than the one provided: just unscrewing the aerator, screwing on the adapter, and screwing on the filter's aerator/diverter - the longest part of the process was the initial flushing/saturation of the filter, which takes several minutes (catch the water in a bucket and use it to water plants; it's not safe to drink as it may contain dust from the carbon filters, but it's fine for plants). I used cable ties to secure the hoses to the underside of the faucet without pinching them and snipped off the excess length so it is all as neat as possible and I cannot catch the hose on anything. The water department in my town does not add fluoride (there is naturally-occurring fluoride, calcium fluoride, which is supposedly not as potentially harmful as the added type, sodium fluoride, and no I'm not getting into that debate with anyone) or chloramines to the water, making my filter-shopping a lot easier; this unit is not designed to remove either of those, but it does clean up a pretty impressive range of other yucky things. Our water does have a relatively high radon content, since it comes from a fast-moving river full of granite boulders passing through many granite gullies, and although I have not had it tested ($$) this unit is supposed to remove radon which was a point in its favor. I was also looking specifically for a unit combining granulated carbon with KDF-55, which this one has and much more. The filter unit is not overly attractive; I would have preferred a plain cylinder, since sitting right next to the sink it catches splatters and splashes and the vertical ridges make it less easy to wipe clean. It takes up about the same amount of space next to the sink as a 2-liter soda bottle. Although the dimensions are in the product specifications, it seems bigger than I imagined it would be - I guess I thought 1-liter soda bottle? The faucet-mount filters I have had put out a rather pitiful dribble and it took what felt like forever to fill a pot. This unit has a good solid stream and fills a pot or pitcher surprisingly quickly. It does drip a little after the water's turned off, and occasionally a few hours after it's been used it'll "burp" and let out a little water which can be a little startling, and messy if you don't keep the spout over the sink. I set it on the sink itself, next to the faucet, so that the spout can be pushed back out of the way and still be safely over the sink to catch any of this unintended water production. I have not had any problems with the diverter button thingy malfunctioning as some reviewers report, although I've only been using it for four months. Still, I have been careful to be gentle with it.Unlike many filtration systems, the New Wave Enviro doesn't strip all the minerals out of the water so if allowed to evaporate, such as from a flower vase, it can leave a film behind, especially visible on clear glass. My town's water is considered "very soft" (low mineral content) but it still leaves marks; I use denture-cleanser tablets from a dollar store to remove it. But, that's why the water tastes particularly good from this filter - minerals are one of the things that give water flavor. Weird thinking of water as having flavor in a good way, usually when we think of water having a taste it's something we want to get rid of! But that's why spring water tastes good and distilled water tastes flat, distilled water has all the minerals removed. The water from this unit has a very clean, crisp taste. I no longer buy spring water (sorry, Poland Spring) or water flavorings like Mio, because my filtered water tastes good enough to drink straight. It also makes good tea, which both I and my kombucha SCOBYs appreciate! My spider plant no longer has brown tips to its leaves, which can be caused by poor water quality. If, for some reason, I haven't needed to use the filter in a day or two, I let the water run for a count to ten before putting my container into the stream in order to flush stale water out of it.Since I live alone, New Wave Enviro says I can go 18 months without changing the filter (actually it probably would be still effective after that, but it's possible that the filter media can deteriorate and dump contaminants back into the water, so they recommend 18 months as the maximum) - when I was shopping I saw filters nearly as expensive that needed to be changed every few months! Filter cost and replacement rate definitely factored into my decision-making process, there were some where the initial purchase cost was quite a bit lower, but the annual cost of the filters sent the price far, far higher. Although this would not meet the needs of many potential users because it does not filter out fluoride or chloramine, it does everything I need it to do and I feel I got good value for my dollar.Edited to add: As a few other reviewers have said happened to them, the little diverter button thingie broke a few months ago (it's now March 2015) and doesn't stay popped out all the time, I have to hold it to fill a container. I am not particularly stressed about this so I am not bothering to subtract a star, but I'm sure it may send others right round the bend so I did want to note that that it happened.

I was searching for a simple water filter...one that attaches to the faucet, but after reading review after review complaining about the faucet mounted filters developing leaks after a short time, I wondered if I'd ever find a simple, easy-to-install water filter that was worth our hard-earned money. I spent a few weeks looking and one day discovered this 10 stage water filter which filters out more impurities than the faucet mounted filters (they're normally 2 or 3 stage filters). The initial cost is more, but I don't expect this to break as quickly as the others, & I will save money by only needing to replace the filter every year to 18 months. New Wave's free reminder service will make that easy for me too.Installation was fast, quick & simple. After installing, you're instructed to let water run through the filter for 2-3 minutes. Running hot water through the filter will wear it out faster & you'll need to replace the filter more often...so don't do it. There's a spring loaded pin on the diverter valve which when pulled will divert the water from your faucet/spout to the filter. You're instructed not to push this pin in to turn off the water to the filter....all you need to do is turn off the water & the pin will push in by itself so the next time you turn on your water it will flow from the faucet. Well, we followed the instructions to a 'T' and I was impressed each time I saw that pin go in. However, I was surprised one morning when I turned on the faucet and water came out of the filter. We'd only been using the filter for 6 days. So, now we have to push the pin in to divert the water back to the faucet. I will be contacting customer service about this problem & will update my review with their response.Pros:~Easy, fast installation~Water tastes great~Removes or greatly reduces the following: Chlorine, Cancer causing organic/chlorine compounds called Trihalomethanes (THM), bad odors, e.g., Hydrogen Sulfide which gives water a rotten egg smell, Pesticides, Herbicides, PCB's, Toxic Heavy Metals i.e., Lead, Cadmium, Organic Arsenic, Asbestos, Micro-organisms (protozoa and cysts) such as Cryptosporidium and Giardia, and dozens of other lesser known organic contaminants~Long-lasting filter cartridge~Can be installed under-counter with the purchase of ~Water flows through the filter quickly so you won't get impatient filling large containers~Spout/spigot has a long neck, & is easily moved to be angled according to your preferences~Comes with two diverter valves...one with female threads & a 13/16" male thread adapterCons:~Sits on countertop~Tubing gets in the way~Spring loaded diverter valve pin fails to work when you turn off the waterOur Delta kitchen faucet looks similar to this Peerless one . I don't know how this filter would attach to one of those new, pull-down, kitchen faucets.Great filter!4 1/2 stars because of diverter valve pin issue. Rounded up to 5 stars.UPDATE: I called Customer svce this morning about the diverter pin issue. I was told that the pin might need lubricated. (I have noticed that it is tighter than it was) When you unscrew the diverter valve you will see a hole in top. (you'll see part of the pin through the hole) I was told to put a couple drops of vegetable oil in the hole, move the pin back & forth and see if that helps. The diverter pin still isn't functioning correctly. I was told if I have problems again, to give customer service a call & they'll send me a replacement part.UPDATE: The diverter valve has been functioning correctly for quite a few months now. I didn't replace it; it just started working again. The tubing is wrapped around the faucet one time; we try to keep it from making a sharp turn.
