Clearly claims to allow larger cards, but that's not what I received

Like others reported, it didn't work at first - some reviewers mention getting multiple units in a row that didn't work. After looking at their illustration on the included manual (if you can call it that), I noticed that on the M2 end, the ribbon cable has the blue side facing up - however my unit had the blue side facing down - the ribbon cable came inserted upside down. Releasing the latch on the M2 end, flipping the ribbon cable so the blue side is visible on top, then re-latching it, and now it works perfectly. Note that the little black latch on the ribbon cable flips up, not forward.

I bought this for a GPU (GT 1030) to try and connect it up to this odd board I imported from overseas which doesn't have a GPU slot. It does seem to work.Mine also had what appears to be "bad soldering" as someone else mentioned in their review, but it doesn't hinder performance. Rather, from the image they shared, I think their cable is upside-down. In fact, I think the manufacturer sends the cable pre-installed upside-down and you have to reverse it for it to work. Not sure why they would do this, but obviously the side with the pins should be facing the PCB, which is the same side the text is on. You can see the text in their image but not in mine.I take 1 star off due to them shipping out this product with the cable upside down. But I take another star off for the shape of the PCB. Annoyingly, the way the wires come out of the PCB make it incredibly difficult to fit it into a PCIe slot in a PC case. The ribbon cable has to be smashed against the bottom of the case and the power cables come out the side facing the PCIe bracket, meaning there's very little room and you have to bend the cables to the point that it feels like it will damage the pins. The best solution I found was to buy a second riser cable that plugs into this one. So my PC has two risers in it. Annoying, but at least it works.

Has instructions for the orientation of the ribbon cable. Yet I received it with said cable installed upside down, so double check your orientation. I ended up using my own sata power cable adapter as I don't have any 4 pin molex available. The pins for power are a bit tight on the tolerance and may break if not unplugged gently.Allowed me to change my otherwise useless a/e slot into a 1x pcie. The usb port is a nice add on, but would be better as a usb header for my case. So works perfect for me.

The first shipment was absolutely broken. Very bad quality of soldering (see the attached picture). Of course it is not worked. The replacement product looks better but it is not working. Sent my feedback to the seller. The last communication from them is: "We are contacting a professional to answer your questions. please wait patiently. ".

Did not appear as advertised. Did not have the gap on the side that allows for the insertion of a GPU.

These are a bit expensive for a passive adaptor (now selling for $5 more than I paid), but work well. I used one to add a dual Gigabit-Ethernet card to a mini-ITX motherboard (Asus H110T) that lacked any PCIe slots, using the M.2 type-E slot intended for a Wifi adaptor. This nestled perfectly beneath my type-B+M M.2 SSD, which overlaps the type-E slot on this motherboard. The extra internal USB port is also useful, and can operate simultaneously with the PCIe slot since it connects to separate pins on the M.2 socket. Depending on you case design, some creativity (custom drilling, etc.) may be needed to securely mount an expansion card, and you need to be careful not to damage the thin-film ribbon cable. Mine came with two different lengths of ribbon, and having the option of a longer one could be useful in larger cases. There is a blue surface-mount LED on the M.2-card section, which on my system remains constantly lit even when the computer is asleep (in ACPI S3 mode), and I believe when in soft-powerdown state as well.
