***** PLEASE SEE UPDATE BELOW *****This product worked mostly as advertised .We did have 1 of the 8 securing strap plastic clips break the 1st time we used it .I also noticed the stitching in one of the front corners of the bag is starting to loosen and separate just a little bit.Our total use of this product was one 250 mile trip to the cabin and one 250 mile return home trip.******* UPDATE 09-13-24 ********The customer service at this company is not good !I have tried multiple times for weeks now to get the broken clip replaced for my rooftop bag ,there has been no response from this company to any of my requests.

This is a nice alternative for your car cargo needs. This item includes instructions, a slip mat, interchangeable short/long straps and a storage bag when not in use. The cargo roof bag itself is very large and quite sturdy in addition to being waterproof. The materials feels like a heavy duty vinyl or rubber. The cargo bag itself comes shipped with the long straps and hooks attached and the shorter straps comes individually wrapped [pictures 2-3] and detached. Also visible in picture 2 is the storage bag [folded for photo ops convenience] yet is quite large. Since the cargo bag itself is approximately 15ft it is quite roomy, and easily attaches to the bars on top of most SUV. However, highly recommended prior to placement of your cargo bag you “must” place and position the slip mat prior to attachment to your auto. Since this cargo bag is fairly large I did have quite a bit of difficulty folding the cargo bag in such a way that it would adequately fit in the storage bag with the additional straps and slip mat. In addition, the bulkiness does not permit storage of the bag in my auto when not in use. Overall, this is simply a great solution for your auto travel storage needs. Good long term investment for you or for the road hogs, hikers and family long haul trips.

25 years, 6 vehicles, 2 children, over 250,000 miles of long trips/moves, and at least 7 of these contraptions later I think I can judge a roof top carrier with a little confidence. I'm not sure this product is going to hold up for more than one use. I'm actually hesitant to use it at all.I'm not going to assume anything because I love these 'soft' carriers so much more than the hard ones but it seems to have been in the folded position for a while because it made cracking sounds when I unfolded it and there was already some wear in those places. It's made out of PVC/vinyl type fabric that's difficult to unfold, not all are, (you won't get it back into the bag provided) and unfold and really hard to zip up. If you have a problem with dexterity you'll have a problem with these ties (although the ties are well made and sewn well--not flimsy at all). The bag is a lot heavier than other ones I've used before and not as giving so even though you can fit a lot in it doesn't mean you should. I'm worried that this material won't sustain highway drives and the wind pulling the straps on it. I may be proven wrong but a giant roll of duct tape is always in my trunk just in case.My Subaru allows me to change the bars on top so I'm not particularly worried about installing and securing it, although I can already tell, unlike the other models, I'll need help loading it. If you don't have a rack on top of your car I wouldn't use this. It does come with side clips and straps to secure to the frame and a thin anti-slip mat for the top of your car, which is a nice addition.Several years back I had to secure one of our old roof top bags by way of window and it was a miserable experience. The window stays open just for the strap to annoy the hell out of you and if it rains then you get rained on. I tried tying up the straps but they would come loose and bang against the car, further driving us crazy. The stitching around the straps, seams, and zipper is impressive, I'll give it that, which makes me think the bag had been in it's box for a while and extreme temp altered the composition of the material because there's no way stitching plastic this stiff is a good idea or even possible without it cracking. As for it being waterproof I believe it....unless it rips.I've always used ratchet straps in addition to the straps these things come with and I would never trust straps that only attach from the side but maybe that's just me being overly cautious.I absolutely love these bags and have been using them to travel long distances, move things, camping etc for the past 10+ years and have gotten it down to a science but it does take a little playing around to see what's best for your vehicle in order to have a fairly uncomplicated, convenient, and safe trip.Coincidentally I have to move some bulky, but not heavy, patio cushions this weekend into storage and will try it out without the ratchet straps to see how well it holds up. I'll update soon after.
