Perfect for my older french bike. Very strong construction. I like the design because it is easy to adjust. If you're only concerned about weight this will not be the best choice.

Nitto racks have failed for some people. I had to purchase longer stays for this rack and nitto is asking customers not to run baskets on their racks anymore. The rack is built well but is limited in functionality. For those with surly forks or others that have extra eyelet pairs high up on the fork should purchase mark's rack

Probably one of the more expensive front racks, but it's a stout, super light-weight option. I got it mainly to provide additional support for a large expedition bag that attaches to my handlebars containing my tent, sleeping bag, sleep pad, and down jacket. Total weight including the bag and mounting system is barely over 10 lbs, but I cannot afford to have my bike tire eat through the bag and damage any of the contents if a strap fails when I'm way off the beaten path. My bike fully loaded approaches 60 lbs so every ounce counts. This is made of Chromoly - very light and strong. I think the recommended weight limit was 11 lbs (5Kg) on the Nitto web site for the 2015 catalog.

Like other Nitto products I've used, it's well-made and attractive. Not cheap, but definitely worth the money.

SO I first got a $15 rack for my vintage (original owner) 1971 Schwinn Sports Tourer . Nice rack, well made, nice black, but alas, the support bars did not pivot like this Nitto, and I could find no others, so back it went. So this Nitto isn't black, but shinny Chromalloy. Hopefully, it won't rust in the near future. It fitted nicely on my bike. Looks and feels to be quite sturdy once you tighten all 5 points of contact. Now I have to determine what front bag to put on it. I think I need to do some "add-ons" so that the bag does not rest on the handlebar since I want the bar to be clear for lights, trip computer and my dainty digits. 8-)

Very well acquainted with Nitto ' s superior bicycle parts. The offerings are always of the highest quality, with a fit and finish really second to none. The brazed joinery is outstanding and appears seamless.Other companies manufacture excellent racks but none are as pleasant to the eye. Nitto parts aren't just another pretty face however and are strong and versatile. This particular rack is intended to be used on bicycles with dual pivot brakes but that doesn't preclude use on those with cantilever brakes. Just requires an extra bolt and nut; 6 mm hex works best IMHO. I think the one I used was 30 mm long. Zip tie a basket to it and you have even more utility. The racks take a little more time to install but done correctly they set the bar.
